PC Games Pass app - Network issues

Hi everyone,

Throughout my time using the PC games pass app, I have encountered various issues. Many I have solved but there's still one very frustrating issue that remains. Breif context is, my internet connection is poor, the speeds are good but the connectivity is lacking even when i'm plugged in via ethernet cable. I can't change this due to where I live. Occasionally my connection will drop for a few seconds which isn't the end of the world but the games pass app seems to think it is.

Once my games pass app connection drops it will not re-connect no matter how hard I try. I can't sign out and back in because that option is greyed out, I run the connection test in the windows settings succesfully, still doesn't reconnect. I restart the services in task manager, it still doesn't connect. I close the app and re-open it, you guessed it still can't connect. I just have the following banner at the bottom of my app

This means if I want to download, host a server or play a game for the first time, I have to restart my PC every single time my internet drops out, sometimes this can be 3 times a day. I shouldn't have to do this. My entire system runs on Microsoft products, my network is handled by Microsoft - so why can't the 2 Microsoft products communicate with each other to establish I do have an active network connection?

That's a strange issue buddy, may I know if your windows system is up to date and also all the apps?

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

In the meantime also ask the following questions:

Are you on Windows 10 or 11?

So, basically when your internet network fails, your whole PC doesn't have internet?

Or only the Microsoft Store apps (Xbox app included)?

May I know if you tried reinstalling your network adapter driver or in case you're using the latest version, install a previous one?

I'm also having the same issue, I've tried both PC and IOS Game pass app and xbox app and neither work. I use the IOS Game Pass and Xbox App.

Which beta app are you having issue downloading? The Xbox Console Companion App (Beta) or the Xbox Game Pass for PC app (Beta)? You'll need to have he beta companion app downloaded first before you can download the PC game pass app (beta) and you will also
need to have Windows update version 1903.

Restart your PC and then make sure you have the requirements to download the PC game pass app.

I've had the exact same issue and have tried reinstalling the app, restarting the PC and the app multiple times. I'm hesitant to buy the game pass for PC at the minute as this issue is preventing me from browsing or getting any games!
