PC Gamepass games not starting

Discus and support PC Gamepass games not starting in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; This problem started with the launch of Halo Infinite.     PC Gamepass games not starting


    This problem started with the launch of Halo Infinite. Since, about 2 out of 3 games are giving me this same problem. The games will not start after installing them.

    I've done all sorts of things to attempt to get them to work and still no fix:

    Uninstall/install game

    Uninstall/install Gamepass app

    Tried starting from hotkey, Gamepass & Microsoft store

    Changing clock settings.

    Turning off all security

    Signing in/out

    Many combos of the above

    etc...

    Every time I use the manage>repair option, I ALWAYS get an error "Something went wrong - Click for details. Error 0x80070020". or some code similar.

    I am spending so much time trying to get games to just run that I'm about to give up my service, which I've had since just after the PC Gamepass launch. Just in the last few months I'm not getting my money's worth for this service now.

    Yes, I'm frustrated.

    P.S. While typing this (20+ minutes or so) Atomicrops has yet to start after a fresh computer start up.

    Goofy, in situations like this the best option will be reset your PC but keeping games and apps.

    Also, before you try performing the factory reset, would be nice trying to uninstall the most recent windows update to see if that can fix the issue.

    Or if you're on Windows 11, downgrade to Windows 10. You can follow steps for all this in the link above

    Yes, I have done a clean boot, as well as completely removing my virus security. My security also catches many of my recent game installs main .exe files as a problem. Neither work.

    No, not just them, though it seems random. Minecraft was perfectly fine, but Minecraft Dungeons took 2 days fiddling with to get it to run.

    In the last week I tried 5 games and all had some problem getting to run, but this has been happening since the Halo Infinite launch on Gamepass a few months ago. Though I did eventually get into most, and one recent game, SpellForce 3 after a bad start always started right up. It seems to be random.

    After the previous posts above, I installed The Gunk, and it took 5 minutes to start after a clean restart.

    Odd bit about this long running issue, once I get into a game, it runs perfectly fine on ultra settings:

    Geforce 1070

    32g Ram

    Gamepass games installed on an SSD
