PC game pass installation issue

You need to install the Game Pass for PC app to install games from Game Pass on your PC.

I hope you are doing well today. Welcome to the Xbox Community. Thank you for reaching out to Xbox Forums. I am happy to provide some recommended solutions that have helped other gamers with issues with installing Forza 5 on PC Game Pass.

Solution 1: Reset Windows 10 store & Xbox Companion APP

1. Open Settings.
   
2. Go to Apps -> Apps & features.
   
3. On the right side, look for Microsoft Store/Xbox App and click it.
   
4. The advanced options link will appear. Click it
   
5. Next, click on the Reset button to reset Microsoft Store/Xbox App to default settings.
   

Follow the same steps to reset the Xbox Companion App. After you have completed solution one, you can do the following.

Solution 2: Play games offline on Windows 10 using Offline mode; this error could also be attributed to issues with the Microsoft store not recognizing your entitlement to the game. Would you please click on this link Play games offline on Windows 10 using Offline mode | Xbox Support. Then scroll down and click on the drop-down arrow and look at the steps for How to enable offline play on your device.

Solution 3: Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device:

1. Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type PowerShell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and select Run as administrator.
   
2. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
   
3. get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
   
4. In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
   
5. start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
   
6. Install the app on that page and select Yes when receiving the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
   
7. Restart your device and try to install the game again.
   

Solution 3: How to format a USB flash drive or external storage device to NTFS on Windows | Xbox Support . Please make sure that your external hard drive is formatted correctly, and then do the other steps of making sure you make it the default location if you want to.

Solution 4: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. If some Windows functions aren't working or Windows crashes, use the System File Checker to scan Windows and restore your files.

Solution 5: Create a user account in Windows; creating a test profile or new one can help rule out that your Windows profile is not corrupted, which can cause issues with your applications.

Solution 6: Get the Xbox Insider Hub app; please sign-up for the Xbox Insider app; this will give you an updated version of the Xbox App that allows you to choose where to install and control the install folders. Once you download the App

1. Open App and sign in.
   
2. Then go to Preview
   
3. Select Join Windows gaming
   
4. Wait for the pending to stop, and it will confirm you are in the Preview.
   
5. Then restart the PC, reinstall Flight Simulator, and choose a place on the hard drive that you would like to have the install folder.

This is still an issue.

At work any game will install fine, at home it will not.

I do have game pass for PC and my PC says it is all the way up to date.
