PC cross platforming

Don't care if this is in the wrong section because depending on the answers to this thread I'll be selling my Xbox one anyway so on to my question....

Wanted to know if I was misinformed but, be it as that nearly every exclusive Xbox one title will be coming to PC (meaning Xbox one owners no longer have exclusives, for the most part) and they plan on cross-platforming PC with Xbox one--does that mean Xbox
One owners will have to deal with the grief that comes along with PC nerds such as hackers and sht like that. Would like to know so I can sell my xbox one this week if so.

Cross Platforming

Why cant they just start cross platforming between the Xbox One and the Xbox 360? It shouldn't be hard. I have read people say it has something to do with them being built differently but if you think about it, it all has to do with the online servers.
If Microsoft can just switch the 360 to the Xbox one servers; online gaming will erupt with competitiveness more than it already is. Gamers will be satisfied and want this feature, but then again Microsoft does not listen to us much. They wont add this feature
or even cross platform party chat because they want 36o owneres to get an xbox one all they want is money.

In order to play with xbox gamers you will have to use the controller. so, you wont be at any disadvantages.

You're missing the point. As expected... Anyway...

 

Enlighten me...I had more hacked/glitched/lag switched games against console gamers (xbox 360) than against PC gamers.

There are hackers on both xbox 360 and also xbox one (cod games are rife with it) so im not sure what you mean?

The only downside to cross platform is the potential skill divide between the pin point accuracy of mouse and keyboard over controller in shooting games. If games are correctly run on servers you wont see very many (if any) hackers at all

 

I think the cross platform play is a great thing for Xbox. More people to play with. It's not all negative. There are bad eggs on every platform, it's all in how you choose to respond to them (or not respond).

 

Showing my age here but does anyone else remember "PunkBuster" from "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" (PC Version).

It wasn't perfect and it even threw me out of the occasional match but it was great to see cheaters get flushed.

 

There are a lot of games on the pc side that won't allow modding or cheating in mp. Think steam has a system that bans people to. A lot of games have seperate lobby's for using mods...

This is not anything towards you or the Xbox One games coming to windows 10. I just wish that nearly every Sony exclusive would go PC. There are a number of games coming that I want to play that will more than likely be PS4 exclusive forever. Just like
the PS3/360 games that never hit PC. The fact is these games are either absolutely never coming to the One/PC or in some cases very unlikely but maybe a slight possibility but no indication they will. Honestly, if all these games came to PC I would just
completely forgo the consoles all together.

As for hacking on PC it depends. I never seem to run into it much. Games that I play tend to do pretty well containing it overall. The systems that are set up seem to do a great job of catching this stuff.

And yes, you can sell your Xbox One this week. Today if you like.

 

You made your mind up before posting, so recommend you sell it, instead of actually having an informed decision.

On a side not, if cross platform games allowed them to be 25% cheaper on xbox (yes made it up) would it be a good thing?

If your a campaign gamer it will make no difference to you, if your a MP gamer it means more options IMO and thats a good thing. I can see KI 3 being very good closs platform, also rocket league all the pro PC players use controllers.

 

You were not misinformed. Major Nelson has a post on his blog all about it. They are selling XB1 exclusives on PC/Windows 10 now. Major caveat though is you will need more than just a decent rig to see an improvement over XB1. So if you don't have a high
end PC, or a PS4 don't worry about it. If you do, yeah sell it. I just bought mine 7 months ago and don't regret it at all. But I have a high end PC and a PS4, so the minute they announce a Games with Gold on PC. I'm out too.

I'll still support MS and buy the those games on windows 10. I just wont' support the console. Which is a good thing. I've played Tomb Raider on PC and it's even more amazing and a much better experience.
