PC can't find Xbox one on network

Basic details: My Xbox one has a wired connection to my router, it is in the router DMZ and NAT settings are OPEN, while my PC connects through wireless, both devices are on the same network. The Xbox one has the 'Music', 'TV' and 'Video' player apps installed
and the "play to" option has been enabled through the console preferences. This is a very similar set-up I used for my Xbox 360 console, which is now no longer in use, and allowed me to stream media just fine.

However the Xbox one is proving more troublesome. I tried the usual "control panel > devices and printers > add device" route but the PC can't find any devices. I tried a suggestion to switch UPnP to "automatic", to no avail, and I have been up and down
the home group and network sharing settings to try and make my PC the most sharingest *** PC around. In spite of all of this the "Play to" option on media player cannot find any devices, which is odd because I was able to set sharing settings for my Xbox one
through the "more streaming options" of windows media player!

Hopefully I didn't leave any information out, any further suggestions for fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Help connecting Xbox360 with PC

Hello. I can't connect my Xbox360 to my PC. I want to browse pictures, music and videos (basically, multimedia stuff) from my PC while using my Xbox360. But whatever I do, the console can't find my PC on the local network

Things I already did but with no success:

• Changed my network from public to home network

• Activated every possible sharing options on the sharing center

• Tried listening to music using Windows Media Player 12 so it can stream my music on the network but the Xbox still can't find it

• Tried syncing Windows Media Center from PC to Xbox360 but the Xbox can't find my PC so it can't sync Windows Media Center

• I opened some TCP ports or something like that. I followed a tutorial on the web, since when I tested my PC connection on my xbox it was listed as one of the suggestions. So I oppened, but still can't find it

The only PC it can find is my sister's. Her PC uses Windows 8.1 (don't ask me why she didn't upgrade to Windows 10 already) while mine uses Windows 7. I'm planning to update to Windows 10 but I want to update it when I get a SSD (Solid State Drive) before that

 

Will Xbox One work as a Media Center Extender?

Can't seem to find any information on this one. I have use a tuner card and Pc to watch TV in my living room and was wondering if the Xbox One will integrate with that HDMI pass through or will just be network based.

 

Have you tried different file formats for streaming? Because not all file formats can be streamed to the Xbox One, especially video formats can cause problems. But if you were able to configure the options for the Xbox one in the media player on your pc
everything should be fine.

Meanwhile the media player app for the One is released, so it should also be possible to use your pc as dlna server and browse it with the media player app directly.
