PBR9002 - Now we have a region lock!?

Hey guys,

as a lot of you i have the same problem getting the PBR9002 error when trying to buy something online with my CC.

After chatting with the Support, the answer was clear and simple: Payment method was not registrated in the country you're trying to buy.

Saying you can´t buy something in the US store anymore when your payment method is linked to a different country.

So we now have a region lock on the Xbox One without further notice? Even the support could´t say why or when this was installed!

This is really great if you have moved to another country a short time ago, what am i supposed to do now?

Oh stop, what support told me was very easy, i just need an US credit card again, but without living in this country anymore this is going to be a problem.

Thanks for the great service Microsoft, adding a region lock without any information is really a fantastic way to communicate with the customers!

PBR9002 is a region issue. Check if the region of your account matches the region you are trying to buy stuff from.

Fans Petition Nintendo To End Region Locking - IGN

Nintendo has a long policy of having their systems be region locked and I guess now gamers are pretty tired of it. Since Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will now be region free, Nintendo remains the sole company not to do so. So now an online petition is being started in order to see if Nintendo will change their polices on their systems. Let's see where it goes from here.

 

you could always just use an american billing address, but there are a lot saying they cant buy from different regions now.

i tried this, didn´t work either for me.

Message from my support chat was like i wrote: Buying from a different region isn´t working anymore.

Let´s see if this is just an error at this moment or if this will remain, but if you ask me, of course this will remain.

 

if this region thing is true and yet they did not announce nothing, it is outrageous .

 

R u trying to buy new stuff in a diferent region or re download already paid for games?

I'm just wondering that the games (all digital) that I bought here in the UK will redownload when I move to live in Canada.

Plus I think I read somewhere that all discs are region free.
