PayPal unavailable for Gamertag Change

Hello.

I'm trying to change my Gamertag. However, when I click "Claim it!", the following window pop-up only allows me to add a Credit Card as a form of payment. My Microsoft / Hotmail account already has a verified (linked) PayPal account to it, and I have already
successfully bought Killer Instinct (recent example) in the Windows Store by using the exact same account (the one I am trying to change the Gamertag of). I have looked for (perhaps) a separate option that would allow me to add a payment method specifically
for changing Gamertags, but I haven't found one (I don't think there is).

Is there any way (one that I might be missing) which would allow me to add a PayPal account as a payment method in the window after I claim a new Gamertag?

Xbox gamertags

So i was going to change my Gamertag to a particular one, yet it had said that it was unavailable. I then went to search for the gamertag itself yet it wasnt a gamertag please help.

some payment options aren't available as an option for certain things, like trying to use a prepaid debit card isn't an option when purchasing recurring subscription like Gold
