    Hey, I'm attempting to download the free games on this month's live. I can get the two xbox one games no problem, but when it comes to the 360 game, it says,

    This purchase requires a billing account. Please add a valid payment instrument. You will not be charged for a free item.

    I have checked my billing account and the card details are correct. This has never been an issue before., I have downloaded free games before and have made purchases on this card with no issues.

    Any help very much appreciated.

    Did your friend use a payment instrument other than PayPal? I've noticed that PayPal as the payment instrument will charge tax in circumstances where it normally shouldn't.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Go to Sign in to your Microsoft account and add your payment instrument and after that try to redeem the code again. You can also contact the support to check your account and code.

    Make sure that your account billing information are updated and it matches the information on your payment instrument. And check your account region make you're on the correct region where your payment instrument is issued.

    Thanks for the update on the issue. If you are having an issue with the address on the payment instrument. You will need to try and get a payment instrument from the same region as you. This is the same issue that Xbox users have with different regions on
    their payment instruments. If don't have one or unable to get, you can always try a paypal.

    Sorry for the issue with the payment instrument. It sounds like the payment instrument is tied to the subscription being you removed a payment instrument and it still charged you. So what you can do
    go on the
    Account website     go to subscriptions and turn off the auto renew.

    Once you turn off the auto renew you can then remove that payment instrument and add a new one to the account.

    Manage Your Payment Options Online     that can assist with the issue. The Microsoft account will ask for a postal code in order to gather all the necessary information for a payment instrument. This is so the payment instrument can be billed for a recurring
