I found out from the Microsoft representatives that your subscription auto renewal date isn't the just the 1st of each month. But it is the day that you created your Xbox One or Xbox 360 xbox live account. Like for example
if you bought your Xbox One or Xbox 360 and created an Xbox live account on the 9th of March. Your auto renewal date when the time comes will be on the 9th. Ask a Microsoft representatives when is your creation date so you can no when your billed.

    :)

  2. Connected to the internet but can't connect to Xbox Live

Exactly the same issue as all you guys here.

Tried everything and yet, still on connected to the internet and Xbox Dashboard saying "Connect to Xbox Live". Kinda *** off paying for a year worth of subscription and spending a month of it on these forums and support pages.

Can't play games with gold you own when silver?

Yes, as far as the Xbox One goes, if you download a Games with Gold game and your subscription runs out, you lose access to those games until you renew your subscription.

I'm not sure about the Xbox 360, but that's the way it works on the XB1.

Also, we don't technically "own" the games, it called Games WITH gold. You're not paying for the games themselves, you're paying for the Xbox Live service as a whole. The freebies they give us every month are just perks/incentives to try and convince us
to keep subscribing. When you quit paying for Xbox Live, you lose the perks for it, too.

I realise not every one can afford up front charges, but I highly recommend people look for other sources for Live subscriptions than MS directly - UK prices are £5.99 a month. CDkeys.com current selling a 12 month sub for £19.99 - A massive £52 difference

Prepaid cards and codes are a better alternative than having your credit card details kept on the systems.

It also keeps you from becoming the victim of unwanted automatic renewals and impulse spending.

And finally, as mentioned above, you can save a decent amount as well.

I usually get the Gift Cards for Gold subscriptions. Authorized retailers do sometimes sell subscriptions cheaper than the full amount which Microsoft charges. Still I really think Microsoft charges really fairly for Gold Subscriptions. It's better getting
12 months, you pay less than getting 12x1 month or 4x3 months etc. Pay it once a year, and you can clear your head for the next 12 months and have a wooo and fun and enjoy Gold benefits on Xbox Live.

@Smileskybird Even buying a year from Microsoft is £40, how can you say that is "fairly cheap" when compared to £20 for the same 12 months from CDKeys?
