Paying for Xbox Live from child account

Hi!

I’ve had a really hard time wrap my head how Xbox store is supposed to work with a family account. And I haven’t come to an enlightment yet, but just wasted a lot of money and time. Frustrating to say the least.

I have parent account and my son has child account and everything he buys has to be approved. I’ve bought a couple of gift cards with a digital code that I’ve given to my son, in order for him to pay Xbox Live Gold. To start with I helped him redeem one
card to add some money to his Microsoft account. For some reason he can not pay the Xbox Live with the money on his account. So I bought a new gift card so that he could use the code directly when selecting Xbox live from the store on the Xbox machine. Selected
Xbox Live in the store and choose Use code. For some reason that just added the money to his account, it didn’t pay the Xbox Live. And the money in the account can not be used to pay for Xbox Live. Seriously, what is this? How is it suppose to work - is there
any chance for him to pay for Xbox Live at all?

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support. I'm sorry to hear about your issue of not being able to pay for your child account's subscription with Microsoft currency / gift card.

I would suggest setting up a call back from an Xbox Live support agent by following the steps below. The agent would be able to look into your billing account and see what might be causing that issue / make that purchase for you.

Step 1 ----Select Xbox One

Step 2 ----Select See other options

Step 3 ----Select topic (Ex. System Update)

Step 4 ----Select "Show contact options"

Step 5 ----Select request a call from support

[/quote]It will prevent anyone who doesn't know the passcode from accessing your Xbox Live account at all without your permission.

Hello so in order to add them to their own console, you will just sign in with the email address and password for each child on the associated console. One child will be able to share your Xbox live and any digital downloaded games through console if you
set theirs as your home console. Other child would need to have their own paid for live account. So you would be paying for only 2 live accounts in the end.

This is an issue with the market place and 360 games.

This can be an issue with a child account or trying to use Microsoft credits, some purchases may need to be created on the Xbox 360

Changing the age under your profile data cannot change your xbox account from child to adult. If you have registered an account under 18+ of age in xbox live service that is a child account
