Paying an overdue payment with my balance

I was wondering if it was possible if I can pay my overdue Xbox Live payment with my Microsoft balance. But the problem is that a credit card is in use with my account and the card isn’t working. I was wondering if there was a way to change that so I can
pay with my balance?

You would need to login at https://account.microsoft.com and follow the isntructions to pay the past due amount. You can not pay with existing balance or prepaid cards.

Unfortunatly you will not be able to pay for an overdue payment with the balance on your account. You will need to have a valid credit card on PayPal linked to your account to be able to make the payment.

Unfortunately, you can NOT pay with account balance. Also be aware, that you can't redeem gift cards as long as there is a past due payment on your account.

You can
change your payment option with instructions from this page here. You will have to add a different Credit Card or make it so your existing card is working again.

Unfortunately, prepaid cards or account balance cannot be used to pay an overdue bill. It will have to be paid using a valid payment method such as a credit card or PayPal. After the overdue balance is paid, your normal subscription can be then paid with
a prepaid card like in the past.

has your Live Gold expired and do you have an overdue balance?

if it has you may need to pay that before you can change the subscription

Another thought, is recurring payments turned on or off?

Wouldn't they also be able to buy a month (assuming their is no overdue balance), then have the payments recurring based on that month?
