Pausing Update on Disk

Hi There - Before you remove the disk it is a good idea to select "Pause Installation" on the update, this will save the data and continue from where you left it.

Thanks. Given it had disappeared from my apps and also the free space on disk had increased significantly, I just started a redownload. It wouldn't be a bad idea to allow pausing of large updates on windows update.

Hello, Let me start by saying that I turned off the console and then formatted it keeping all the games and save data. The problem still persists.

All other games are downloading/installing without a problem.

I got the metro exodus complete edition on BD. When I install the game, it prompts me to download an update. Then the download is stuck at 94.6% and won't budge.

I found this but unsure if I can link directly so am copy/pasting the "possible" solution...no clue if it's useful or not though:

"So ive figured out how to fix this issue and its worked for me every time,so when you install gets stuck at 94 percent ,click pause all updates on the update progress menu (You must wait for it to say paused on the update screen ,before you swap out the data disk for the play disk and then resume downloadin it should pick up again after a few seconds) ,take out the data disk ,input play disk and click resume ,this should then resume downloading the update ,

As soon as the update resumes downloading ,pause all again and then switch back to data disk and click resume , this will then carry on downloading the update to 100 percent and can then play the series x version,

I think the actual play disk is for the basic xbox one version ,which is why it doesn't actually let you play the game of this disk

heres what i did after my first failiure...........delete everything BF3 on your hard drive (i kept the online pass) including the update. Install multiplayer off of disk 1 (dont run the game) remove disk and install singleplayer off of disk 2. Run single
player and you will be prompted to update. Update then run single player (same disk) you will be prompted to install HD pack so select yes (obviously ha ha) then you will be prompted to swap disks as HD pack on disk 1. This negates the problem of waiting for
the disk too stop spinning. Install HD pack , the bar should make a nice steady climb up too full if it pauses for a second or two its ok as long as it doesnt throw you back to the install HD pack scren again

Not delay itself as you describe it - but you have to turn off keeping games and apps up to date if not the next one shall start downloading when pausing one.

If you don't, next time you start console if will continue with one of the paused ones - in background.

I always buy on disk, so simulataneous disk install and internet downloads are running in parallell. so don't know about pausing from disk, never did that - only the download parts.

And I choose "later" as option to activate update download - to be in control and decide when I want to do that.

Multiple clicks on pause - one may cumulate and undo the other - and possibly why it takes so long for you.

I imagine other things like Cortana also actively listening, if using that, may cause console to do too many things, making response slower.

I carefully go through anything I ran and see to that they don't have the "quit" option - so I know they are not running.

If using quick boot or standby - meaning console always running to some degree checking for updates and stuff - I would turn that off as well.
