Patch reset mission progress

So I was prompted during my single player mission of Halo CE to install today's update. I did so and when I went back to resume my game, I was placed all the way back at the beginning of the mission. Yeah, thanks a lot.

Does Starting a "New Game" Reset Character?

No it does not reset EVERYTHING. Game progress as far as your level and stats, things found, etc. all stay with you. Only the game progress resets, like safe houses you have cleared, missions, etc reset.

Halo Reach campaign

On Halo Reach, I have completed some missions on Matchmaking Co-op but the 10th mission won't unlock. Every mission has been completed on Normal (some on Heroic & Legendary, some on co-op), yet the 10th mission didn't unlock. I think it even reset my Solo
progress on a couple missions, but it still registered as completed on the Co-op progress. Why won't the 10th mission unlock even though I completed the 9th mission? Does it matter if I complete it on Solo or Co-op?

I played the end of chapter 5, waited for the tram, survived and went to chapter 6. Played a full hour doing the mission where I look for Edward in the conn tower, and no progress save. A full hour. Did not get a save until I had actually finished the
mission. THAT, my friends, needs to be patched (if such a thing is possible).

If you mess up "...Wingman..." you need to fully quit out and restart the whole level unfortunately. I watched a youtube vid to do it at the same time and followed it to the root. As for "Butterfly", if you mess up you need to again fully quit back to the
main menu and restart the whole mission, you can skip the interogation scene but cannot die at all along the way.

For Butterfly, you have to not die once in the level, from what I remember. For You Can Be My Wingman, I think you have to only hit the flares once per missile at you and not get hit once. You can also not miss your own shots at all. There are youtube videos
to show how to do it.
