Patch 1.5.158 broke my game.

I downloaded the new patch last night, 1.5 .158 and every one of my game saves that were saved way prior to the update now all the sudden have the Rad X icon on the bottom right of the screen just below the action bar, that will not go away even when not
using Rad X. The worst part is when I actually TRY to use RadX to temporarily be immune from radiation it does not work I still get radiation worse then ever and icon still stays there on the screen. This was NEVER like this until I got the update last night.
the Rad X icon is also on my Pipboy status screen, which is never there before and it won't go away either. Also the patch notes for this patch is a HUGE LIE, Because when I try to make a robot to be a vendor although it accepts the job I cannot buy anything
from it because it keeps requesting to be a follower option. What's the point of adding that if it's not going to work? I want this RAD X icon off my screen I want it working again like it was before the update. Fricken Bethesda get your act together because
this is *** bull#$%^ every time you try to update something you literally BREAK something more important, this game is a piece of sh#t now.

juddery playback when playing from HDD

must be a glitch with the game then. I suppose thats good news in that my xbox aint broke. Hopefully they can fix it with a patch or something.

 

cannot finish quests

have you downloaded the new patches yet?

my first playthru stalled because of a lot of broken quests. I downloaded the most recent patch and started a new playthru - those quests work now. the patch doesn't fix any broken quests in an active game. You would have to star anew.

 

Just like in January the update we got for Fallout 4 literally broke the Vault 111 elevator and put a big black Dome over it. The stupid support at Bethesda refuses to acknowledge it, saying it's just a one-time incident. Which is bullsh#t because there's
a lot of people on YouTube and even on the Bethesda forums, having the same issue with the Vault 111 even with the PS4 version of it. Yet still Bethesda refuses to acknowledge it and is in total denial of it even when they see the YouTube videos and the posts
on their own forums about it. It only goes to show you they do NOT read their own forums and they don't give a sh#t at all.

Ok just checked the radx icon is a pill.

Are you sure it's definitely radx causing it or do you have the molerat disease from Vault 81?

I've read on the forums that molerat disease permanently adds the pill icon on the screen.

If you bring up the pipboy go to the stats and status tab and press RB to show effects it will tell you what status effects you are under.

If it is molerat disease it is not a bug but more of an annoying consequence of doing the right thing and saving that kids life in vault 81.

Unfortunately there is no cure for molerat disease. Once you have it you are stuck with it.

 

listen yes it had the mole rat disease come along time ago I did that mission months agolike in December. The icon was never there never even in my pipboy hud menu. but why is the icon all of a sudden showing up just as soon as I get the update? It was
never there before never and every one of my game screenshots that icon was never there. Now all of a sudden it's there as soon as I get the update and every time I boot the game up and start the game even I start a new game the icon appears on my screen and
pipboy it doesn't go away.????? now even worse why is it not allowing me to use the rad X? Why doesnt the Rad X have any effect now? and it's not because I'm in survival mode because I'm not if that was the case I wouldn't be able to fast travel from one
place to another. Which I can still do with no problem. that's not the case. And I know it's not because I selected a Radx before I save the game because I didn't. It all the sudden just popped on as soon as I start the game. Use any game save prior to this
update. Even older game saves. this update literally broke my game now because I can't use radx anymore I used to do that a lot when I was going through the glowing sea. stupid Bethesda breaks the game and doesn't even care. their support really s#cks as
well.

 

if the mole rat disease was the problem, then how come I checked all my screenshots that I made prior to this update since mole rat disease in december and I've made a lot of screenshots since then. And that rad X pill icons is not on any one of them? Even
ones that I took a few days ago prior to this update no pill icon on my screen. now it's there immediately since the update. Explain that to me then? Bethesda just doesn't want you to play this *** game, and enjoy it.

 

okay maybe the pill icon shows up in the Pip-Boy screen for the mole rat disease. I'll give you that. but like I said it shows up on the bottom right-hand side of my main game HUD. and as I said before also, that every one of my screenshots I have taken
since the mole rat disease hit me back in December I've never seen an icon on the screen. Now yesterday as soon as I did the update, soon as I got into any game, the icon is now on my screen automatically and the Radx itself is not functioning at all and the
icon on the bottom right-hand side of my game Hud does not go way at all

 

The pill icon would have always been in the pip-boy. It used to annoy me just being there in the pip boy. That's why in playthroughs since I always made sure I didn't catch the disease.

The new patch added the status icons to the HUD. Unfortunately through as molerat disease is a status effect the icon will be permanently on screen now.

I agree with you it's annoying and game breaking. I found it to be game breaking when the icon was permanently showing in my pip boy. I hated it so much I actually deleted my character, started a new one and vowed to avoid getting bit by the molerats in
the vault 81 quest.

If I hated it being permanently in my pip boy I can only imagine how bad it would be if it was permanently on screen.

While it's not technically a bug I agree it should be patched so that the molerat disease icon doesn't show on the hud. Actually I think it should be patched so it doesn't show in pip-boy either. The could have just made it a perk which wouldn't have needed
a status effect.

If you don't know already, MODs are coming to xbox later this month. With a bit of luck there will be a mod available that lets you cure molerat disease if you already have it.

 

thanks for the information. I don't understand why they did not mention that in the release notes about the icon thing on the screen after the update. But oh well I guess there's nothing I can do about it now. I'm not starting over because I'm a level 140.
the release notes also didn't mention that RadX doesn't seem to have any effect now since the update. When I try to take some to go into the glowing sea, prior to the update I would not get radiated while the Radx being used. Now when I take some and go into
the glowing sea, I get instantly radiated showing that the Rad X doesn't have any effect whatsoever since the update, they should have mentioned that in the release notes also. And something else about the release notes they mention robots can now be assigned
and work as vendors. But of course they do not, when you assign them to a post they stand by it, but they do not give you the option to buy anything. just options to act as a follower companion. So why even say that in the release notes if it's not true? They're
really making the game worse with these updates.

I'm not going to use any of the mods I don't want to use mods for the fact that the game is unstable now as it is. And with no option to be able to backup your game saves to flash drive and having to rely on the Cloud that's not reliable half the time, who
knows what these mods will do to our game saves. I just want to get the DLCs that I paid for finished so I can call it done with this game. The cloud already messed up my game saves more than once, forcing me to lose hours of gameplay, and not to mention deleting
some of my Minecraft worlds that I have worked many months on. that's why I don't play that game anymore.

 

Radx has never been strong enough to go in the glowing sea without taking radiation damage

I couldn't use that before the patch.

Are you sure you weren't wearing power armour or a hazmat suit last time?

A hazmat suit or power armour with high rad resistance + Radx might have been enough to block radiation but radx on it's own doesn't.

 

Here's one way to test the RadX issue to prove what I'm talking about, you can do it this way just going in water without Rad X and then with Rad X is no effect. I am not seeing any difference within the speed of being radiated. anyways the point I am
making is that they posted in their release notes for this update, which is a total lie is about the robots being able to be vendors. and yes the stupid pill icon as well.

 

Strange. Radx is working for me.. I take less radiation damage in rivers when I have taken radx.
