Patch 1.07 installed = Must start new game

I was in Novigrad, doing "In Ciri's Footsteps" mission. I was to visit Triss in Novigrad, I had her mission waypoint and dotted path on my mini-map in order to follow to find her place. THEN Patch 1.07 was installed and POOF, "In Ciri's Footsteps" waypoint
and path is gone from my map and no matter how I select/track that mission from my Journal, I cannot get the mission waypoint to be displayed again...I cannot finish that mission at all, there is NO There There. The mission is still in my Journal, I see NO
"Failed" status, it's still shown as the active mission BUT the mission marker and location is no longer a "place" that I can access...it's broken.

This means I must start a brand new game because I have no old saves since I had deleted them after getting the Warning that tells you old saves will not work with Patch 1.07 gameplay. I have no recourse other than begin anew, that's really irritating!

Actually I am really tired of wading through messy game design/crafting, buggy gameplay and game breaking patches, especially when it causes me to start over from the very beginning. At this time I have no desire to start from scratch.

I have always had huge respect for CD Projekt. They are a rare breed of developers who made amazing RPGs and who constantly significantly improve every Witcher title from day one throughout the entire game's lifespan. That's what makes this whole Witcher
3 situation super frustrating to me, this time it seems like they bit off more than they could chew. The amount and magnitude of problems seems very uncharacteristic in my view.

The Witcher 3 New Game + is out now!

Ok so question unrelated to this but has anyone played the game with the latest 1.08 patch or whatever it was and have the frame rate issues been resolved. They broke it with 1.07 it started having the same issues as PS4 version lol.

 

Patches, what a pain for internet

Nothing is more annoying to me than inserting a new game disc to play on either PS4 or XBO and be greated with either an install time wait, or with GBs of patches after patches instead of starting the game right away.

 

Sorry you had that happen. Me on the other hand have spent well over 200 hours (according to Smartglass) and I haven't had any game breaking bugs. My game runs better after patch 1.07.

Hopefully they sort that out for you.

 

^What Brand said, completed with well over 200 hours with no game breaking glitches or bugs to speak of. Think they did an amazing job with the Witcher 3.

 

The only bug I've run into since the patch is twice now after leaving a cut scene/conversation, the game "thinks" I'm in combat. No enemies in the middle of Novigrad, no automatic sword drawing, just fight music and I can't manual save or meditate. Loading
most recent save has fixed this for me. I also keep 5 saves that I rotate when I manual save, just in case anything really funky happens.

 

I somewhat expected things like this to happen, Polish developers are known for putting out messy buggy games (just look at City Interactive's games for example), so sadly CD Projekt Red will have to be on this list.

I will wait until CD Projekt Red is done patching the game & then I will consider buying The Witcher 3, plus I'm not a fan of gratuitous sexual content in games (& movies), I'm much more into gratuitous gory games (& movies).

 

^CD Projekt are actually know for putting out quality tested products so your comment is way of beam. And you comment about gratuitous sexual content goes even more to demonstrate your complete lack of knowledge of this or any other Witcher game on consoles.

 

I have ran into several glitches after the 1.07 patch. The Most Wanted Quest, Ciri Health Regeneration at fighting the Crones at Bald Mountain, plus a couple others. I hope CD Projket fixes it soon, as the Ciri Health Regeneration is a game breaker for
me.

Hmmm, I wonder if you deleted some essential checkpoint save? There's no other explanation really. I tried googling the issue but not really coming up with anything. Why were you so quick to delete those saves?

 

Honestly, this is scary because now I really want to play this game but I feel scared to continue my journey.
