Past Due Charge for Unwanted Gold Membership

Recently, I realized I haven't made much use of the Xbox Live Gold membership I had so I decided to disable auto-renew for it. Once I did though, I could no longer access Xbox Live on my profile. Apparently, the card that was set to renew the account had
expired before the auto-renew date so the account never renewed and now the charge is past due. Is there any way to resolve this situation without purchasing another 12 month Xbox Live Gold membership to renew it? Because I really don't want to spend $60 on
a service that I'm hardly going to use.

Xbox Live Gold doesn't work.

So, I had a past due charge for my Gold subscription and it wasn't letting me pay it. I contacted customer support, they were very helpful and cancelled the suspension of my Gold subscription and reset it so that I could pay the charge I owed and apply my
three month pre-paid card for Gold. Once I applied the card my account shows both on the Microsoft site and on my console that I have Gold membership. But that's as far as it goes. Any time I try to use anything that requires Gold I am prompted to subscribe,
and when I follow up on my console, it takes me to the "Games with Gold" page, showing that I do indeed have a Gold membership. I was charged twice for my past due payments and I payed for a three month card, as well as an additional $9.99 charge for another
month of Gold. I have restarted my console several times and even removed my account from the console in hopes that I could use the features I pay for once I re-downloaded my account.
So far I'm out $65 and I've gotten nowhere. I am not sure what to do now.

How do I pay a past due balance with 3 month membership gold card that i have?

My gold membership is past due. So now it's suspended and i cannot pay the past due amount with the money i have in my Microsoft account.... The past due amount is 10 dollars and i got 21 dollars in my Microsoft account... Help please

The only way to pay a past due amount is via either a debit/credit card or paypal account.

Redeem the code just like a prepaid gold membership card here. Also, you can no longer get founder status as it's way past its due date.

This may mean that it either has a past due amount that needs to be paid or you have it attached to an active membership. You can check if you have any past due on at
http://billing.microsoft.com. Once any past due is paid or memberships are canceled or over then it can be removed if there are no past dues on the payment methods.
