  1. Password Protect Purchasing Instead Of Passkey

I'd really prefer the password option of protecting purchases instead of a passkey, because if anyone is around when I enter it in they can watch for the button presses and it's only 6 entries instead of a password. I'd definitely make sure nobody was able
to see the screen when entering my password, and as such would be more careful about it than a passkey. Can we make this an option between the two for purchase security?

    :)

Signing in every time you play

hi,you need to create a passkey so instead of using your account password you log your account with the passkey.

the passkey its also required to authorize purchases.

Have to enter the WPA2 Password every time - after selecting a different Wi-fi Service

It is by design to ask for your WPA2 password/passkey after connecting successfully to another Network , then switching back to your previous Networks. It's like refreshing the Network, which does require the WPA passkey once again. I'd recommend changing
your passkey to something tough, yet you will definitely remember instead of having to type in the very long passkey that is defaulted from the ISP.

Or you can use your console corrextly and use the home gold setting

You do know that kids and friends don't have to be on your account to watch netflix or play games right?

You can make a guest account and gold isn't necessary for apps making

Also home gold allows any user to play online without a payment option regardless if gold status as long as your membership is paid on the master account

No one should be using your account on xbox one as all accounts are gold on that console and yes you can set restrictions which you should be doing for any guest or child using your console

  6. Hi,

Regarding your security I am sure that you have nothing to worry about, you can set it to lock it down where you need to sign in using your Microsoft account. you can use the smartglass app to enter the password.

Passkey has been very successful on security, if there is anyone in the room just ask them to leave has you're entering your security code. I am sure they would understand.

  7. My main gripe is that lots of my other accounts for other things allow me to set a password for purchases but allow people to pick up and play while I'm away. Had one issue before on the 360 where my nephew got into the avatar part of the 360 and purchased
a few inexpensive things. Since my sister visits frequently due to medical issues, often times my nephew would want to play Minecraft and I would be at work so his dad or grandma would be around to help him get started, but often times would go make food,
take a shower, etc and he happened to buy $2 of avatar stuff somehow.

I want him to be able to pickup and play, which with voice commands coming to the headset should be even easier for him to start up games, and totally locking it down or setting another profile up detracts from that. Six random button presses is a lot easier
to randomly hit than an actual password, and it would seem awkward to ask people to leave for just button presses. I guess it's more a personal preference, but I'd rather leave it open aside from purchasing and account changes, and want an actual password
rather than button presses/pin number entry. Using smartglass is nice, but that still requires me being around to unlock an account lock, and my preferred option, using the account password to unlock purchases, isn't there for the smartglass.

I guess I'm just a peculiar instance and really want it like my Google Apps store where you can even download free things without a password, but need the password to actually spend money. I was actually shocked not to see the full password as an option.

  8. Password Protect Purchasing Instead Of Passkey

Passkey is convenience for some people, just like locking it down. yes we all have our preferences in security. I don't see why not having more of a wider range of security.

There is an setting you can change, to set your account to only download free content in the privacy and online safely setting. you can set this to only free content why you're not using the xbox and when your nephew is using your xbox one so these purchases
    willn't happen.

  9. Which I tested out, but it doesn't give an option to override the lockout for a purchase with either a password or passkey. Tested out trying to buy a game I wanted with it set to free purchases only, couldn't override it and have to reset that setting to
make a purchase. More work-arounds that don't quite get me to where I want it to be. I think the 360 has it set up to locking out purchases, don't remember if it was passkey-like or my password, but that's out where he can get to it, my One is in my room currently,
where I'm testing it out and prepping to put it out for BluRay playback in the main room. Likely will have to use passkey for now.

  10. Atm the only thing you can do to only set free content but locking purchases altogether or choose other settings, I am sure the xbox one will get those awesome setting like timer and better setting to do with purchases.

Or just keep it simple hve their own account and you have yours

You don't need them on tour account on home gold

You don't need to unlock your profile

They sign in on their profile and use games and apps as they like

Have require pass key or password to sign in checked

You do not need to be t the console at all

The child can use his own profile and it doesn't affect your purchases

  12. Wouldn't the simplest be to password lock purchases and account changes and just have one profile always signed in? No need to change settings, log-in to other accounts, etc. Just pick up and play, without risk of purchases and something more secure than
Passkey guarding purchases. My nephew knows how to work redstone, but not xbox menus. Funny how things like that work.
