Password Problems

I have the authenticator app and the password for my Microsoft Account works on my tablet when logging in. I can't get the password to work on my new Xbox when trying to put in my password though. Any ideas what to do?

Password problems

Support cannot change the email for you. First you will need to clear up the password issue, after you have the password you can then create a new Microsoft Account out of the email you want attached (if it's not already attached to another gamertag) then
go through the process of changing the MSA to the gamertag on the console. Account.live.com is where you go to reset the password if you know the old email address. If you don't know the exact email address to that gamertag you can call support, but they can
only provide it if you know all the account information to prove ownership.

Password problems

Yeah mate filled out the questionaire four times now and microsoft say we cant provide enough information to verify his ownership of the account, think that all hope of recovering that email is gone. My only hope is that I can reclaim the remaining 11 mths
Xbox live and gamertag history through my previous parental control of the account and the fact I have the recently redeemed receipt with activation code. Hopefully somebody from the Xbox team will be able to tell me if this is possible.....

Try deleting your account and reinstalling it to the xbox. Be sure to type in the password 100% correctly and slowly when typing it in ensuring you are getting all the caps (if any) correctly.

Have you been able to sign on to your console or is this the first time you are signing in? Ensure that the MSA that is tied to your Gamertag is the one you are using to connect on your console. Can you provide us the actual error message?

search for a message that says "password reset link" and click on the second link and then enter a new password with 6 or more characters with at least one number in it, but remember your secret answer and password cannot be the same. so for example change
your password to microsoft1 and their you go. but remember it could take up to 48 hours to update so be patient. i hope this helped!!!! And remember never give out your windows live ID, email, password, or all of the above.

Hey Annile1! I'd highly advise against using a password you've previously had with this account. For your account safety your best bet is to use something random with both letters and numbers, capitalized and lowercase! For further security measures make
sure to check out http://xbox.com/security and ensure your account is protected.

I don't remember, but I fixed it anyway. Apparently, if you change your password from your Xbox, it doesn't check if you have already used it.
