Password entry on 360 doesn't allow spaces

You can change your live password to have spaces it in and _most_ devices (table, xbox one, PC) allow you to enter them. For whatever reason the 360 keyboard greys it out as an option and it probably shouldn't. This means that if your password has a space
in it, it is literally impossible login into your console. Seems like an odd choice, and I can't see a reason to disable that. Plus shouldn't password rules be consistent across all systems?

It probably does not allow "space" in a password.

 

Long passwords not supported on Xbox360, but works on XboxOne/Pc

I'd recently changed my password to something 19 characters long. However, when prompted to enter password on Xbox360 it stops accepting characters at some point (12-15ish chars?) and authentication fails. I'll eventually care enough to change to a shorter
password, but Microsoft really needs to either:

• Allow longer password entry on Xbox360, or
• Limit length of passwords to shortest allowed

 

I honestly never thought spaces were allowed in passwords because of... reasons. Must be a design flaw?

Anyway, if the Xbox 360 disabled the space button, you're likely going to have to change your Microsoft Account password to be able to input it. That is unless if you want to wait for a system update.

 

I just had the same stupid problem. It's ridiculous.

 

This is so stupid! I just tried to purchase a game on my son's account and it said I had to change the Privacy Settings. Fair enough. When I go to do so, it asks me to enter me password. The problem is, my password has TWO spaces in it! Now it looks like
the only solution is to change my Microsoft Password. Which might sound straightforward. But, it means that I will have to re-log into ALL of my Microsoft accounts on ALL of my devices. So, not only my Surface Pro 3, but SkyDrive on my iPhone, iPad, Lapto
and PC, the xBox App on my iPhone & iPad etc. etc. That on top of the fact that I use two-factor authentication. It's just a pain in the ****! How could they overlook something so basic?!?!
