  1. Password before payment needed

Rightly or wrongly, I let my 4 year old kid play on my account. This is because we both love minecraft, but I build much better worlds than him. Therefore, I will build a world and play it and when I get bored with it, I leave it for him to do what he likes
with. Because we can't share worlds or give worlds to another player, we can't do this with him playing on his own account. However, I got out of the shower today to find I now had a years worth of gold membership and an overdrawn credit card. As far as I
can see my only option is to remove my CC details and re-enter them whenever I wish to buy something, if I were to continue letting him use my account. To be honest, having to do this is most likely going to result in me not being bothered and spending less
money on xbox. However if an option were available to enter a password before being able to make a purchase, I would leave my CC details, continue to spend money and not have to worry about my son making purchases. As it is, I am removing my CC details and
will probably spend a lot less money on xbox in the future. Would microsoft ever consider implementing something like this? Or do they just assume that everyone has their own account and as each account is password-protected then it's not their problem?

    :)

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

    Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

    Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

    1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

    2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

    3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:
    • If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
    • If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.
    4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

    1) Go to My Account.

    2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

    3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

    4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:
    • Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
    • Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

  3. How can I get add-ons for Xbox 360 games without getting an Xbox live account?

You need an account to link your payment information to. It's how they track the sales of DLC and who owns it. You need it. If you're mom won't make you one, have her make one for herself. Password lock it from you so you can't go crazy with her Credit Card. Have her purchase the DLC, it will work for all local accounts on the system. She doesn't need to have a gold account, a silver account is fine.

    Password before payment needed

I can see why a password is not needed to make a purchase on the console, because presumably, everyone should be using their own account and it's possible to make a passcode necessary to sign-in to an account.

On Xbox.com, making purchases require you to put in a password to confirm a purchase for added security, so there is what you are looking for, for making purchases on the website at least.
