Passkey problem

Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We see that you need some assistance with your passkey. We recommend

power cycling the console by holding down the power buttons on the console for ten seconds. Also, we have a support article that explains

how to manage your passkey. It describes how to set up a new passkey if necessary. Be sure to let us know the results

You can apply the offline update to solve this issue:

So prettymuch my only option is to go somewhere with internet and do a usb update...

If you need to go somewhere else to be able to download the update to USB then you can also consider bringing the console to that place and have the console run the required update, then you don't have to use the USB offline update solution.

No I hadn't. I'll give that a try.

Come to think of it my friends console was the first one I used because I didn't have my own console until yesterday. Maybe his console was set as my home console?

In any case I'll set my own console as home and will try the passkey next time i'm at my friends house.

Have you set your console as your Home console and your friends as the away one? If not, perhaps that is the issue. You can check by going to Settings>Home Console (the Home button is the bottom green button on the left side).
