Passkey popup not opening when logging into minecraft

When you say this must be done from a computer, do you have to be logged in to the computer as the child? My kids do not have Microsoft user accounts on my computer at the present time (though they have in the past). When I log in to Edge and go to aka.ms/familyverify, I get a popup message that says, "This site is trying to open Microsoft family features." When I click on the "open" button, I get another popup box that says "Sign in so you don't miss out." When I click the "Sign in" button on that popup, I am prompted for my Windows laptop PIN. This happens whether I am logged into Edge as myself, my child, or in an InPrivate window.

I get no login prompt. Whether it's from a clean install or opening it from the .exe, I either get a popup telling me to renew my Gold subscription or, when opened with Administrator privileges, it gives me the File system error (-2143322101) popup.

the easiest way to prevent him doing this is make a passkey that needs to be entered before that profile gets signed in, to do trhis when logged into your account go to Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & Passkey, from here you can make a passkey using
the buttons on the controller and have it set so he will need the passkey if he was to try logging into that account, you can also set one on his account that will be need to be added if you are worried about him purchasing stuff.

When you log in at account.microsoft.com do you have any message popup saying what the problem is and how to fix it?
