Passcode AND Password required

I have become really annoyed lately with the way my Xbox signs me in. At first, I used Kinect sign on to instantly get me on Xbox Live, but over the past few weeks I've been prompted to enter my Microsoft password everytime if I want to sign in. My Kinect
wouldn't recognize me unless I signed in manually. I tried a few things, I removed the Kinect sign in for the 'Instant Sign-on' option, but when I boot up my console, it will sign in my profile without being connected to Xbox Live. I also tried to create a
six digit passcode (because 6 digits on a controller are much better than typing my full password every time), but I then had to put both the passcode AND password in. What's the deal? I'm tired of having to put my password in everytime I sign in!

depending on the passcode required both answers can be correct.

If it is an family passcode that is required then please follow the steps specified by onyx62is, Only Xbox Support is able to help you reset a family passcode.

If it is an xbox live passcode then the steps specified by MommaBear8689 should do the trick

(This will require the email address and password for the Xbox Live account)

Have you tried redownloading your profile to the console and making sure to check the 'remember password'?

If that doesn't clear it up, please let us know.

 

Also, if you haven't done it lately, sign in to that email on account.live.com sometimes when there is an issue with the email, you are prompted to constantly sign in with the console
