    How to control access to your Xbox LIVE account

    It is possible to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE account by using a pass code, or making it necessary to sign into your Xbox profile using your Microsoft account password.

    Set a pass code

    A pass code is a button sequence on your controller, which you can use to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have set the pass code, anyone who wants to sign into Xbox LIVE using your profile must enter the pass code.

    Steps to follow

    1) Under Settings, select Account

    2) Go to Account Security, and then select Pass Code

    3) Enter your four-button code on your controller. You can use the directional pads, the triggers, the bumpers, X and Y.

    4) Re-enter your pass code for confirmation

    The next time you sign in with your Xbox LIVE gamertag, you will be required to enter the pass code.

    If you want to change or reset your pass code, just repeat the above steps. You will be required to enter the old pass code before you can change it.

    do not have answer to family pass code question to reset the code. How do I get around this to reset the pass code or remove it completely?

    Pass code reset

    Hi there,

    there are two passcodes possible on the Xbox 360 console.

    The Xbox Live Passcode, which is a code to prevent access to Xbox Live for a specific profile, to reset it Redownload your profile, see the steps on this link:

    support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

    The Family passcode, this is console wide and is used for family settings to prevent kids other then the parent to access certain settings etc.

    In order to reset a family passcode you will need to contact Xbox Support, They will need the serial ID of the console and will do something on their end, after which they will guide you through the steps to reset it on your end.

    pass codes for gamertags can be reset by deleting and recovering the tag. Family setting pass codes can only be reset by support. Call support for your region.
