    Party issues if party members are in different games.


    I've been playing GTA online a lot recently, my friend plays a lot of Diablo, whenever we go into a party together. My mic just stops working, I cannot hear any party chat, It only seems to happen if I'm playing a game before I join. If I start a party
    before booting up a game it works fine. Just thought I'd make you aware of this bug as it's one of a long list. As much as I love Xbox, I'm pretty annoyed that it has been over a year since release and a lot of major bugs and annoyances still have not been
    addressed. I shouldn't have to keep hard resetting to be able to chat to my friends. Sort it out Msoft.

    August update...

    Anyone having party chat issues? I have to keep the party snapped in order to hear and talk to party members.

    Post if your in-game chat DOES work (not party chat).

    Sometimes mine works and sometimes it doesn't. But today I was in a private party chat and I could hear game chat plain as day in my party chat while I was still hearing my party chat members. They could also hear me talking back to them in game chat somehow.
    There are some definite issues with this.

    Party issues if party members are in different games.

    Can you make sure that your tag didn't automatically switch to Game Chat when you enter the party? It seems to happen a lot. Check out your tag in the party and press A on it. If it is in Game Chat then switch it to Party Chat.

    If that does not work then while the party is snapped press the Guide button to go home and then highlight the party press the Menu button and select Quit.

    If that doesn't work then you'll need to power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

    Not a great solution really having to power cycle for every problem the xbox has,

    especially if I'm mid game, shouldn't have to keep doing this. When will this stuff get sorted?

    Hello Rhyno,

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. There are a few things we would like to know in order to have a better understanding of this issue.

    When your son is chatting with his friends, is he in an Xbox live party? That would be a private room/party where you can only chat with/hear other members in the party.

    Or, is he using in game chat? This means he is not in an Xbox live party, and is able to talk to all players in the game lobby he is playing in.

    Since this issue is happening on 2 different mics, have you been able to try out a different controller?

    I have the same issue. I'm also a preview member. Funny thing I'd I can join parties on other accounts signed in on the same xbox except for mines. I can join a party if I'm on a different console.
