Party connection issue

My friends and I can't connect to each others partys and my friends and I have our Nat types on moderate and open! Pls help!!!

If someone is having trouble connecting to a party for some random reason, the party chat will automatically switch over to a dedicated server so that everyone can connect without issue.

Can you connect to your friend while you are alone? Can you connect to a third party? and then connect to your friend? Can your friends connect to each other? What happens when you and your friends try to connect?

same for me all my friends say the same thing the there is a party system glitch. I believe this is happening to everyone.

I played GTA online last nite doing heist and was in several party chats and everything seemed fine , sometimes it would glitch a little while connecting but came on pretty quick , but , some people must have an issue judging by the threads im seeing here
and elsewhere...

Yeah, but it's weird all the people I talk about this problem say the same thing my friends and even the people I talk on gamechat on some games they say the same thing about the party system. Microsoft needs to fix party system because it's really frustrating.

Suggest you check the settings inside the Motorola SBG6580 as it may be programmed to give preference to the other Xbox using Port Forwarding or DMZ - if either are set up that will block your Xbox. You want those
off and UPnP on. See

I may have just found the answer, it appears that my friend and my Xboxes both are running on the same channel on the router (C: 5) does anyone know a quick fix for this? Or if this is a definite issue that could cause this problem?

In the case of "Fear The Doctor" above... this isn't a Party Chat error like the OP is having.

You simply have to push the Menu button and select "Party Chat" because for some reason on rare occasions it puts you in a party but not in party chat.
