Party Chat Volume Low, Not coming out of center speaker

I have a 5.1 surround sound system and use kinect for chat. I'm having issues not being able to hear the person I am in a party with while playing games. Is there any way to get the party volume to come out of the center speaker and game volume to come out
of the right and left speakers? Even when game volume is reduced by 80% it's still hard to hear who I'm talking to. I feel like if party chat came out of the center speaker it'd be much easier to hear. I have my Xbox One set to HDMI 5.1 Uncompressed and my
surround sound receiver set to Multichannel.

Hi, it doesn't help. I want the game volume to lower when someone speaks. This works in party chat and not in game chat. Why?

Xbox Voice Settings

I am now using headphones to hear people and the game sound. I have my voice output set to play through both, voice volume at 10 and game volume at 1. My goal is to be able to hear the voice and game clearly. When in party chat, when someone speaks, the
game volume lowers. Great, but in game chat, when someone speaks, the game volume does not lower, why is this and what can I do about it? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, but probably you have not understand my question. I have the only speakers output, so I bypass the headset and use only speakers. I'm asking how to low the party chat volume without affect the game volume. I think that if xbox give
the option to use only speakers there is a way to mix the volume.

I figured it out! Audio settings for the Xbox and the TV/stereo/whatever you're getting sound through, need to be the same. If one is set on center channel, but you don't have a center channel speaker, it will sound muffled with low volume. If there is
no center speaker, they both need to be on Stereo instead of 5.1 or 7.1 surround.

If you would like to enable party chat to come through both the headset and the speakers, then you can enable this settings by navigating to the settings on your console > display & sound > volume > party chat & output > headset
& speakers.

Hello Teroknor,

It sounds likely that in Settings you have party chat audio to come out through both speakers and headset. To change this, go to Settings > Display & Sound > Volume > Party Chat Output.

Change that option to 'headset only' and now try again.
