Party chat switches to game chat.

Ok so party chat regularly disconnects and changes you over to game chat without displaying the change. It does the change with out any user intervention. The only solution I have found is to change to game chat and then back. I called technical support
and they noticed the same thing on their console. They have escalated the issue with their mentor but recommended I post it to the forum as it was more likely to be notified if posted to the forum.

Can't use party chat

I'm having these same issues right now. Game chat works fine but as soon as I get into any party, it won't let me switch to "Party Chat". It's like it's stuck in Game Chat & won't allow a switch over to Party Chat.

 

X1 Party Issue

I had this issue when playing with a couple people from this lobby in the Halo 5 beta. From what I experienced, it was switching others and I to game chat and of course, nobody was talking in game chat. What I do is just open the party up using snap, then click on my name and switch it back to party chat.

 

Is this happening in all games or just certain games?

Is it just you getting disconnected or are other members also?

Are you plugging in or disconnecting a wired controller when it happens?

If a wireless controller, is the battery low?

(This also happens to friends in parties occasionally in Rainbow Six Siege).
