    Party chat on Windows 10 is a bugged out mess.


    When the app first launched the party chat capability, it worked perfectly. I could use my desktop microphone no problem.

    Recently, around the same time the app updated to add the highest xbox one streaming option, chat literally died. Whenever I join a party, I cannot hear anyone, and no one can hear me. The closest thing that I have to a workaround, which does not even work
    entirely, is to connect a headset to an xbox one controller connected to my computer via microUSB and have the default communication mic and headset set to the ones from the controller. After all that, I can only even hear people; people still cannot hear
    me.

    This persists between reboots and the only thing that has changed about my setup is some extra RAM so nothing has changed hardware wise that would have affected this. I don't expect a solution to this or any helpful replies; just documenting
    the issue since others have also had this issue with no level of support given to even try finding the source of the issue.

    When i try to join / create a party chat on the windows 10 xbox app it says: Your network blocks party chat [0x89231806]

    Hello,

    Try a hard reset with your headset not plugged in. To do so Hold the Power button for 10 seconds allowing the system to fully shut down. Then restart it.

    If only certain friends hear you as a robot it might be a issue on their end.

    Are you in the insider program by any chance? There have been some audio issues reported in the last few builds.

    Thanks for posting. While streaming your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC, it is by design that Xbox Live parties are prioritized on Windows 10 at that point.

    However, if you own a Micro USB cable or the Xbox One Wireless Controller Adapter for your Windows 10 PC, you can use the Xbox One Chat Headset on Windows 10 for Xbox Live Parties. Check out our

    Xbox one weird audio problem

    Currently there is a bug that is affecting users in different ways. For me, if I open a Party Chat, my tv volume drops down almost 10 notches. If I turn off Party Chat and use in game (while still in a party or not) my volume is fine.

    It's weird. Microsoft is looking into at the moment. I'm sure they'll figure it out soon enough..
