Party chat not working with a specific friend

Hi. For the past few months, my party chat has not been working sometimes with one specific friend. What happens is when I join any party that he is in, I can hear everybody but him, and he can hear everybody but me. Shortly after I join (Or he joins me,
as long as we are in the same party) everybody gets disconnected. It says “Your network settings are blocking party chat.” I’ve been on the site and I tried every single solution that was offered for the error code, and just on support forums. I contacted
Xbox support, and they said I had to open some ports on my router, and that didn’t work either. This problem usually occurs for 2-5 weeks, and then it will go back to normal for maybe 2-3 weeks tops, and then it repeats. This has been going on for about a
year, and it is very annoying. It only happens with this specific friend. If it is important, I should mention that he and I are neighbors. Anyone have a solution?

Party Chat Disconnected, but only with certain friends Error Code 0x89231806

Hello,

I am experiencing problems when trying to chat in party with a specific friend. I am able to speak with anyone else whom I join a party with, but not a specific friend of mine. Sometimes it will work, but will disconnect again after playing for a while together.

The error code is 0x89231806 "party chat disconnected". Both of out NAT types are set to OPEN, I have reset my router, I have tried clearing my Xbox system cache.

Any help would be appreciated as this has been going on for weeks!

Party Chat Issues

My friends and I have been having constant issues with Xbox party chat...we get “network settings are blocking party chat” errors but it only happens when certain people are online. For example when there are five of us trying to chat together. If I try
to join the party and one specific friend is in the party it says my network setting block party chat however if that friend leaves the party then there are no issues. This happens with random pairs in our group of friends. We have all tried the different
steps we have found online

I recommend to
create a static IP for the console,
and port forwarding on the network
configuration settings for a better connection. I suggest you and your friend ensure all ports are open for the Xbox Live server.
