Party Chat not working, out of ideas

Ok, this has been driving me crazy all week.

I tried to get into a party with a friend. When he spoke, I could hear him. When I spoke, the green dot would flash as if I was transmitting but he could not hear me. I ran the gauntlet of troubleshooting, update software, hard reboot, etc. This has been
going on all week. I had just bought the Xbox stereo headset so I was thinking maybe this is broken. I decided, I will download skype and test my Mic and sho nuff, it passed.

Last night, we tried party again, with no luck. I was at the end of my rope so I suggested we try using skype and.................it worked. We were chatting away all night.

So I ask, what the hell man? I work in computers and this issue is perplexing me because I cannot figure out WHAT if anything is wrong with my box or router. Is there some sort of weird firewall setting for Chat that skype does not use? Is the software hosed
and MS is researching? I just dont want to spend days researching router settings or even buy a new router if there is no issue.

Ideas?

Chat down, everyone supposedly pffline

while playing fifa with my mates the chat has stopped and according to all our xbox ones everyone is offline, tried reboot (all of us) and changing party leader, not even ingame chat is working

any ideas

 

No Party Chat between US and Europe

Beginning last weekend the party chat between myself and a friend stationed in Germany stopped working. It began to get spotty, then would stop working altogether after a minute or two. We tried again this week and had absolutely no sound. XBox 360 party/game
chat works fine. Any ideas?

 

I am on the preview and see lots with this problem, it is being worked on so MS do know about it doesn't seem to be any quick fixes to keep you going, just hope they get it fixed soon.

 

It's comforting to know it's not me. Guess I will hold off on making things worse trying to fix the issue on my side

When you speak does the circle flash repeatedly? And who ever is in the party sounds like robots? Because its been happening to me all yesterday and today and I was convinced it was my controller's jack.
