    Party Chat no longer works when switching to Game Chat


    It looks like switching from Party Chat to Game Chat is broken right now.
    Whenever I switch back to the party chat the profile pictures of other party members are blacked out indicating that they are in game chat but they are not.
    They can talk but the party overlay does not pick that up, neither does the UI in the party indicate that they are talking.

    Only workaround I have found is that all members leave the party and someone who was not the host of the 'glitched' party create a new one

    Someone else having this issue right now or am I the only one? If so do you have any other workaround methods found or another reasons for why this issue is occurring?

    EDIT: Looks like this issue is fixed with today's update for Beta ring users. Let's hope that it will be fixed soon for the other rings

    Can't use party chat

    I'm having these same issues right now. Game chat works fine but as soon as I get into any party, it won't let me switch to "Party Chat". It's like it's stuck in Game Chat & won't allow a switch over to Party Chat.

    FIX NEEDED. Game chat is not working in fortnite. xbox part chat works fine

    Join an Xbox party chat, go to options and switch to game chat. You can then leave the Xbox party and the fortnite party chat should work again

    Cannot hear anyone game or party chat

    When you're in a party make sure your character is switched to party chat and not game chat. You can check this by highlighting your character in the party app and then press A to select the game or party chat options.

    Party issues if party members are in different games.

    Can you make sure that your tag didn't automatically switch to Game Chat when you enter the party? It seems to happen a lot. Check out your tag in the party and press A on it. If it is in Game Chat then switch it to Party Chat.

    If that does not work then while the party is snapped press the Guide button to go home and then highlight the party press the Menu button and select Quit.

    If that doesn't work then you'll need to power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down.
