Party chat malfunction

My Xbox S won't recognize me speaking and I don't know what's wrong. The party chat is fine and I have everything updated and have good connection. I switched controllers and headsets and nothing seems to work. I am on adult account and have connections set to everyone. I've tried soft and hard resets and even resetting my settings still nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me
