    Party chat issues with specific person. Need thoughts


    I play with some friends, Destiny mostly, two of my friends are father and son in the same house.

    We have never had issues before until last week (September 21st) when the son and I could not connect together in a party.

    Both of us can connect to everyone else, including his father.

    When I join chat I can still talk to the others but he gets 'Connecting' then eventually drops.

    We tried various parties started by different people etc.

    The son and I can still connect in game.

    Hard reset consoles, rebooted routers.

    Now, they live in the UK and I live in the Czech Republic (I'm English, lived here 3 years now). The father and I are both proficient in basic networking, have both portforwarded the Xbox recommended ports and set up our routers to maximise our connections.
    Open NAT all round and as mentioned before no previous connection issues.

    Both consoles hard-wired.

    The Father reset and reconfigured his whole network.

    We have both checked privacy and chat settings, block settings, removed each other from friends list and rejoined.

    I tried to connect using the Xbox mobile app (Android) on 4G connection and same thing happened, can talk to everyone but he gets booted. (I don't get booted)

    I also signed in on my own sons account on my console and joined party, same problem so not an account problem I guess.

    Running out of ideas, nothing has changed here yet I've still reset everything. Can connect ingame, can't chat even when I'm not on my console and on a mobile network.

    This leads me to believe its a problem with his console suddenly becoming racist.

    Lol joke, but another of our friends is in Denmark and the son also has friends in the US and there are no other issues there, so it seems his console hates Czech Republic. His fathers console is on the same network and there are no issues there.

    So, any ideas anyone? seems like a really weird issue and I'd appreciate any input.

    Yes, we can normally play other games together with friends and use party chat without any issue at all.

    I had first thought that it could be an issue with the games servers, as it does have its issues, but then I thought of the problem of the xbox live party chat and thought I should post here first to see what you guys think. Would that game specifically
    cause a problem with party chat? I would not have thought it to be possible.

    I think you need to be more specific here, are you trying to join in game chat, or party chat?!

    Could you be a bit more specific with what your issue is? Is it with all games or a specific game? If so, which one? Are you able to use party chat or in-game chat?

    We need a bit more information before we know how to best help out here. :)

    Welcome to the forums, sorry you're experiencing these problems with the game.

    This seems like a strange issue, but i have done a bit of research on this as its not happening to me on my Xbox one X and Xbox OG.

    It appears to have something to do with the party chat, and specifically the Party chat overlay. There have been suggestions to turn the overlay off, or attempt to play without party chat.

    But this error doesnt seem to be xbox specific as there are also PS and PC gamers also experiencing similar issues, which means its the game, and not the console.

    If you're experiencing this same issue on all of your other games on your console, then the console may be damaged/faulty and may need a repair. If its only Call of Duty, then its clearly the game, and not the device.

    Hopefully attempting to try the game without being in a party, or with having the party chat overlay off helps the problem for now till the fixes are applied to the game.

    If this person actually told you in a message, or said in chat, that he was going to report you via multiple accounts, report him. If it was in a message, report that specific message and give details. If it was in party chat, report the player and again,
    details. Give date and aprox time of party.
