Party chat issue but only in a certain game?

Hi. Im having a really strange party chat issue but seemingly only in one game.

When myself and my friend play Halo or other games party chat is fine usually. however, when we play PES 2021, once we get into a match, the chat keeps going quite. We both still hear game audio through the headset, but we cant hear eachother. To be clear this is while on party chat, not game chat. Which is what makes it strange.

We have checked all the settings, network etc... When it happens if we go onto the party we are both still connected, nobody is muted, we both get the circle around our gamerpic when we talk so its getting our audio.

My friend has a wired headset, but has tried 2 different headsets on 2 different controllers. I did have wired but have upgraded to the new xbox wireless headset and had the issue across both.

If my friend unplugs his headset and plugs it back in (sometimes has to do this a couple of times) the chat comes back temporarily but then goes again.

One thing that was different last time was that after he unplugged/ replugged his headset i started hearing him, but he couldnt hear me. Thats the first time thats happened, usually we cant hear eachother.

We have fully shut down consoles, refreshed internet, updated controllers/ headsets.

I cant seem to come across anyone with a similar issue. Anybody have any ideas on this?

According to the explanation you have provided, please make sure to follow the following steps in order to fix your issue.

The next step will be for you to try and use the headset on different controllers and consoles to confirm it is not an issue with the headset itself.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

The last option would be for you to try and request a replacement for your devices from the microsoft website online.

My son is having Party Chat issues and sometimes only affected with certain games, such as Fortnite.

48 hour trials allows certain game modes only and no party chat and not all games are supported

since yesterday myself and friends have been having issues with the party chat. Two things are happening, 1. everybody can only hear certain people, 2. Chat is all jarbled up and sounds robotic. Only way to fix is to hard reset the xbox. This has to
be an issue on microsofts side as they party chat has been having issues for the past week or so.

Hello, do you know if its only when your in party chat with certain people??? Have you tried starting your own party chat and inviting people to it??
