party chat grey circle

once and awhile i get a grey circle that either my friend or me get when we enter party chat. we both have open nats, both have hard reset our xboxs, and both have tried using kinect and our headsets i'm stumped. its really annoying because you can't talk
or hear anyone else in the party. even if you change who is hosting the party it doesn't help. any other options to fix this or do i just have to wait awhile before i can party chat like usual when this happens.

When im in party chat i have a grey circle next to my name instead of a blue one.

Im not in game chat cause i have the option to go but when i click it nothing happens. This grey circle is there even when im in a party by myself or with friends, idk what it is but i cant talk in party chat because of it, Please help!

X1 party chat

Hey unsure if this is in the correct place so I apologise if not.

Xbox one party chat. So I can invite and join parties with friends however we just have grey circles next to our names and cannot chat. When I host I can "turn party chat on" and the circles go green but we do not hear each other. When I dont host that button
doesnt do anything. Any advice as after 2 hours im stumped

While the party is snapped back out to the dashboard and highlight it, press Start and select Quit then rejoin the party.

If you get in and can't hear anyone you're probably in Game Chat. Be sure to try switching to Party Chat by highlighting your gamertag and press A then select the proper option.

Well, I tested my mic in party chat, to see if the green circle lit up, and it does, so it's probably just that nobody is chatting.

I Am Ridiculous

When you're in party chat and you disconnect the mic, does the green circle still stay lit?

Having the same issue also also my friends and I can join in party chat but we can't hear each other and the little blue circle icons in the party chat either don't appear or doesn't show up that we are talking anyone having this issue as well? This is annoying
