  1. Party Chat Error and Teredo IP Failed Connections

TL;DR Tech-savy guy has an unresolvable bug with party chat and the multiplayer connection test, THESE ARE THE ONLY 2 THINGS THAT ARENT WORKING LIKE THEY WERE THE DAY BEFORE.

I replied to a similar post on this forum but they didnt go through the amount of steps and procedures that i went through to try and resolve my problem so i felt the need to explain this bug im having in a new thread.

Everything as of right now works fine except the ability to hear anyone in xbox one party chats. When i ran my multiplayer connection test, i got the Failed to find Teredo IP error.

So, i attempted every step i could try in order to resolve the issue...and i mean every step.

I tried multiple way with my Upnp off and on. I tried multiple ways with having my xbox on DHCP reserve and while not having it on reserve. I have tried multiple ways with having my router's ports forwarded for my xbox and having them not forwarded. I have
tried multiple times hard resetting my xbox, changing out the ethernet cable and going into my modem ports and settings to try and fix this problem.

All the above attempts were made with wired and wireless connections. All systems, routers and modems were restarted at proper times while attempting and still no help in the multiplayer connection test or the party chat coming back.

I have a lot of patience for stuff like this so i try to go through all options before asking for help. I'll take any other options as advice and my only question is that if turning off my SPI firewall protection would do anything to help?

    :)

Teredo is unable to qualify - I've tried EVERYTHING...

Teredo is a networking protocol that’s used to establish secure communications between clients and servers, and to facilitate connectivity between devices behind routers that use network address translation
    (NAT).

Failure to obtain a Teredo IP address can occur when there’s an issue with your Teredo adapter, when a device on your network is blocking the Teredo protocol, or if there’s software installed on your PC
that’s disabling Teredo functionality. Without a Teredo IP address, you’ll be unable to use party chat or do multiplayer gaming on Xbox Live.

Note The Teredo IP address is only necessary for Xbox Live party chat and multiplayer features. If your game doesn’t use the Xbox Live service, consult that game’s support site for help
    on chat and multiplayer issues.

    Can't Join Party Chats

    Hi,

To properly isolate your concern, we need to gather more details about the issue. Kindly answer the following questions:

    • Are there any error messages when you tried to start or join a party chat?
    • What type of network connection is your computer using?
    • Have you tried to start a party chat using a different profile on the same computer?

If you can’t hear your friends online, or you can’t join or host an Xbox Live multiplayer game, go to Network > Settings in the Xbox app and check NAT type.

If it says Teredo is unable to qualify, your PC is unable to obtain a Teredo IP address.

Teredo is a networking protocol that’s used to establish secure communications between clients and servers, and to facilitate connectivity between devices behind routers that use network address translation (NAT).

Failure to obtain a Teredo IP address can occur when there’s an issue with your Teredo adapter, when a device on your network is blocking the Teredo protocol, or if there’s software installed on your PC that’s disabling Teredo functionality. Without a Teredo
IP address, you’ll be unable to use party chat or do multiplayer gaming on Xbox Live.

We're looking forward to your response.

  4. Party Chat Error and Teredo IP Failed Connections

I fixed my own problem by factory default restoring my router and modem, then re-configuring my network map for my apartment, which consisted of 2 computers and 2 consoles, and 2 handhelds as well. Took some time but now i can hear in party chats and my
NAT type actually went back to OPEN even though it being STRICT before never affected anything

but that wasnt really my main concern anyways. Factory resetting your router will be very annoying for anyone who isnt that familiar with the system so use a guide to help reset and re-configure the network properly.

Cannot Connect to Online Services while In-Game

If you can’t join or host an Xbox Live multiplayer game, or you can’t connect to a party chat session, press the
Start button, select Settings > Gaming >
Xbox Networking and check NAT type.

If it says Teredo is unable to qualify, your PC is unable to obtain a Teredo IP address.
