Party app closes automatically when I select my gamertag

It seems that since the new update, I can not select my own gamertag within the party snap screen, as this just just unsnaps the app. This has become increasingly frustrating as I can't now switch in between game chat and party chat without leaving the party.
I did not have this problem before the update, is their some sort of quick fix for this? Anyone else have the same problem?

    Thanks in advance

    :)

    Dashboard lag

Just hold power button in for 7 seconds to force a full reboot. Fixes the issue.

You can close apps by selecting running ones, hitting the menu button and selecting "quit".

X1 from what I can tell is like an ipad in that it manages memory automatically and closes apps when needed but you can manually do it.

And the full reboot every few days seems to fix any jerkiness.

    Signing off, not out.

Is there a way to configure the Xbox app so when I close it, it automatically signs me off? Right now when I close the app I continue to get notifications and party invites on my PC and people continue to see my status as "on Xbox app". I don't want people
thinking I'm online when I'm not, and I don't want to be receiving invites on my PC when I have the app closed. Is my only option to go into the settings and sign out every time before I close the app? Can we please fix this so it signs out on closure, or
minimizes to the system tray on closure and I can right click and close/signout there?

    Hey there unreal243!

Sorry to hear about the party chat issue! Let's start with just a power cycle for now, which will clear your system cache. To power cycle, do the following:

    • Press and power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    • When the Xbox One is powered off, unplug the power cable from it and let it sit for 5 minutes.
    • Plug the power back into the Xbox One console and power on.
    • Verify if the issue persists.
Try those steps and let us know how it goes! \Party app closes automatically when I select my gamertag :D/

The Xbox app keeps launching on startup

Kindly open Xbox app, click the profile menu in the top-left and select the Settings option. > General. Then turn off the “Automatically launch app at startup” option then clear the “Keep the app running in the background when I close it” option to prevent the app from running after closing the app.

    Stolen email

That gamertag looks like a randomly generated gamertag. ie( If you sign into xbox.com with a Microsoft account email it will automatically generate a gamertag for the email account.)

If you want to stop emails from xbox sign into xbox.com - select my account - then select Contact preferences. You can stop the emails there.

If you want to close the account sign into account.live.com and select close. If it detects xbox billing and does not let you close check your billing and make sure there are no cards on file. Then if that is all clear go to answers.microsoft.com and message
    the error you receive there.

    The Trouble with appLICATIONS

Or, you know, you could press the menu button on the apps when you're done with them and select "quit" - getting in the habit of closing down your apps after using them (since they don't close automatically) can significantly reduce the strain on your console,
    just like any PC. ;)

Party app automatically closes when putting game into full screen.

Sorry to hear it. For future reference you should post preview issues to the preview forums.

    forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx

In the meantime, power cycling your console by holding the power button for 10 seconds should solve the issue.
