Parents account not valid

I am also experiencing the same issue with my sons account.

When we sign in with his account on the Xbox 360 it displays the message "Your parents Microsoft account isn't valid". Meanwhile everything works fine on the Xbox One.

I've also contacted support and they couldn't see anything wrong with both accounts.

This seems to be an issue with the Xbox 360 and the way it checks the accounts and not really an issue with the accounts themselves.

If you look at the "Friends" tab, there is no numeral "1" like the next pic.

We only see the "1" when we are on the same wifi network, but we used to be able to see it when we were on different wifi networks, but both logged into xboxlive



When I try a workaround that used to work and invite him, he gets this message



I have gone though all the settings and he should be able to!!!

Why is this happening?

Even the "Global help" people have no clue and have stopped responding - surely this cant be hard for someone to investigate and sort out????

Absolutely ruining my and my Sons experience.

As he spends slightly more that 1/2 his time with his mother - we used this to stay connected ..

Does anyone care?

Really need a resolution to this OVER 4 MONTHS!!

I'd really appreciate it if you guys did - that way I don't have to go through the whole song and dance about what the problem is!

You also can tell them what you have done and why you think the issue is with them.

The last thing I want or need is going through another troubleshooting process, only to get to the point where they say the problem is XBOX live!!!

It would also avoid another 4 months of not being able to play with my son!!

 

I just took a quick look at the microsoft page you provided the link for.

It appears that everything on the pages points to that they will be sending me back to XBOX live as thats how the ipads link to play multiplayer games with Friends.

To be clear - to play multiplayer worlds on ipads (NOT using Realms) with Friends - you need xbox live to be working.

Please contact them on my behalf. consider this as permission to do so and provide whatever information/details required to resolve this issue.

I had a similar issue where signing in on the 360 with a child account would show the message "Your parent account isn't valid".

What worked for me and got the account back to normal was to remove the child account from the family and
re-add it using an Xbox One. I had also removed my account from the console but I don't think that this had anything to do with it.

When adding the child account to the family on the Xbox One it also asks to select a parent Xbox Live account/Gamertag to link it to which is what might fix the "isn't valid" error.

Not sure if you're still having the issue, but that might help.

It looks like they've solve the CONSOLE issue, but the ability to play multiplayer minecraft on ipads using XBOX Live to connect is far from solved. (see next post)

I understand this isn’t the

“just fix it” resolution you were hoping for,

I just see this as a "cop out" - minecraft PE has an option to "BROADCAST TO XBOX Live"

Why have it if it doesn't work??

I cannot understand why it used to work, but now it doesn't.

All the tools and options are there for it to work as it used to, but it appears they'r just too lazy to solve the problem that they caused themselves!!

I have reached out to MOJANG, but expect they're going to say it's XBOX live issue.

 

As of yesterday it has gotten worse!!

If that is even possible!!

Now using ipads, on the same wifi network, my son cannot join my worlds.

He gets this error message:



I CAN join his worlds, but he can join mine!!

Is there anyone I can contact to sort this out???

this message claims something in the setting is preventing it - but everyone says the settings are fine!!

What a disaster - 4 months and no resolution.
