    hi, just bought mine craft to play on xbox360

    My son and I have been happily playing mine craft on iPads, using xboxlive to play while in separate locations.

    When he tried to use his gamer tag (account) on Xbox live he got an error saying his parent account was not valid....

    I've checked on Microsoft and all seems in order....

    Both accounts work with the iPads and log on fine with mine craft on iPads.

    I can play using my gamer tag, but he can't play because of this error message.

    If I follow the on screen instructions, it seems like it want me to set up a completely new account to be his "parent"...that makes no sense to me.

    What is going on?

    Please help!

    I removed myself from the family account. When I tried to sign in to my account on my console it said that the parent account was not valid and that I needed to create a new one. After I created the new parent account and tried to sign in it said that Xbox
    Live sign up is unavailable. Please try again later. Can someone please help me?????

    I have already tried this... but it is still saying that Xbox live sign up is unavailable.... I have even cleared the system's cache... I don't know what else to do Parents account not valid :(

    This is still a problem and not resolved..

    My account seems to be fine without any problems, but Xbox obviously thinks there's a problem.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Hey there Puzzigully!

    Have you by chance reached out to
    Phone/Chat support
    in reference to this parent account issue? They should be able to help determine if have the correct account tied your child's account, and if there are any issues with they should be able help clear it up. Let us know Parents account not valid :)

    Yes, I lost 3 hours of my life on the phone and went round and round doing the same crap

    Deleting profiles

    Creating new profiles

    Creating new family members

    Sending verification codes 10 times!!!!!!

    AND STILL NOT RESOLVED!!!!!!!!!

    No clue how "support" means keeping me on the phone for 3 hours to resolve a problem Microsoft/Xbox have.......

    Really sorry to hear about the frustrations. Since you've been in talk with Phone/Chat support have they given you any other advice? Are they still looking into this? If it's been passed onto another team, let's wait a bit to see the result.

    Spent another hour on the phone with them last night as the changes they made the previous night mean I can now no longer play multiplayer on the ipad!!

    This is getting worse!!

    XBox Live fails to deliver what it promises.

    I'm thinking i should never have set up his account as a child.

    Whilst its great in theory to protect them online, but if he cant play online, whats the point????

    Apparently this has been escalated to a "Global service team" and I may get a call in 48-72 business hours.

    What makes all of this harder is that he live with his mother 50% of the time and they keep having to seen "verification codes" to his email - while he's at his mothers...

    This is killing me..

    Will report back if they get anywhere, but it's almost looking like create two new accounts for us both....but not sure you can even do that as the emails addresses are linked and you can't???

    so a week has gone by with no contact from xboxlive or Microsoft "global resolution"

    So the previous "help" has made it worse whereby we cannot play multiplayer online when my son is at his mothers house.

    They've made it worse, and don't seem to care

    Is there anyway I can escalate this or at least get some help??

    thanks for your reply.

    I kinda have no choice but to wait..... I am not a normally patient person.

    It's also disconcerting that its a problem with XBox/Microsoft and not a "box I didn't tick" - I was hoping it was just something I'd overlooked.

    My problem is that before I tried to sort out the XBox 360 issue, my son and I could happily play minecraft multiplayer on ipads when he was at his mother's house.

    Now we can't even do that..

    Is there anyway I can at least get that functionality back?

    Unfortunately the current best option would to use entirely new accounts. Our teams are working to clear this up ASAP, but we'll be sure to reach out when we have more details.

    Thanks for the reply, but that solution is quite ridiculous.

    Who is to say the same won't happen to the new ones?

    I've been contacted by the global team who finally admit it is a problem that they know about, but have no clue how to fix

    Apparently it started in Japan with users, now slowly spreading across the globe....

    In the futile attempts to "fix" this I've lost more even functionality

    Hopefully they can fix this soon, as it's now been far too long 4 weeks ago!

    The much advertised "keeping kids safe online" is partially true if they can't play online in the first place!!!!

    I regret now setting up his account as a child.

    But apparently you can't change it now.

    A new account needs a new email address etc.

    Still very frustrated...

    latest response is that "there's nothing wrong with our accounts"

    This astounds me!

    If there's nothing wrong with the accounts, why can we log into mine craft on xbox360???

    Looks like that was wasted $$$

    To add insult to injury, attempting to "fix" this issue has screwed up the ability to play multiplayer on iPads!!!

    Not what I'd call "support"

    Can anyone help please???
