    Parental settings become active after switching consoles


    the problem first occured when I switched recently to a newer version of the 360, my parental settings have become active again, they were last active way back when I played cod 5 and I disabled them shortly after setting them, i changed comsoles a few months
    ago and have been noticing the parental pad coming up more frequently. I cannot remember the passcode from ages ago and nor can I remember the security question. Im 18 years old and I cannot access things like Netflix without this code and it stops me from
    downloading certain games, how can I disable them?

    always the same with new downloadable content

    change your console settings so your console still downloads after switching it off, worked for me.

    Hi there,

    the auction house might require the Allow user created content option to be enabled on the account.

    This setting can also be set via
    http://account.xbox.com/settings

    This settings needs to be set by the parental account for the child account(s) after the setting has been set the account needs to be signed out and back in again on the console for the settings to become active.

    If this is Not working, try setting the account to Adult, save it and set it back to teen again. Be sure to validate if the Allow User created content option is enabled and sign out and back in again.

    be sure to check the page here:

    if all requirement privileges are allowed/enabled.

    If your account is a Child account, your parental account need to change these settings.

    When changes are made the child account will need to sign out on the console and then sign back in again before the changes will become active.

    Hi there,

    to update your privacy settings you can go to
    http://account.xbox.com/settings

    and verify if all settings allow multiplayer and related, like the option that will allow you to see content created by other users.

    If your account is controller by a parental account, that parental account needs to be signed in to check the settings via that link.

    Keep in mind that after the settings have changed, it might require you to sign out of your profile and sign back in again before the changes become active.

    On a console also be sure to do a power cycle

    try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    While downloading!

    If you have the console set to Instant On (Settings>Power&Startup) then yes, if you start downloading anything you can switch the console off and it will continue downloading.

    If the console is set to Energy Saving the console will switch off fully and stop the active download.
