    Parental controls with Fortnite game


    Hello.

    There's a problem with the parental controls (time limit) on Xbox One with Fortnite game. It seems the "screen limit" of an hour parametrized on the children's account is not applied to this game...

    I give 1 hour per day for Xbox One games. Today: the activity report shows more than 2 hours (instead of one) of Xbox use for my son. My feelings is that he's able to play more than one hour each time he plays this game.

    Why? If it's related to this particular game: I'll block it in some other way but I expect the parental control to work...

    BUG - Cross platform play does not enable for child accounts no matter what settings you set. This needs EPIC/MS attention

    You can see and set the parental controls permissions on the web site now. They do not seem to do anything in game however. The cross play option does not appear in the Fortnite settings after the parental control settings are changed - even after restarting
    the Xbox. Best guess is a future Xbox system update and possibly Fortnite update will be required for the parental control settings to be respected.

    To see the parental controls for yourself:

    1. Log into Xbox.com with the parent account.
    2. Click the player icon in the top right to show the menu and click “Xbox Settings”.
    3. Click “Privacy & Online Settings”.
    4. Click the child account.
    5. Adjust “You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text”. I assume setting to “In-game Friends” allows voice and text chat with Epic friends only.
    6. Scroll down and click “Submit”.
    7. Scroll up and click “Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety”.
    8. For “You can play with people outside of Xbox Live” click “Allow”.
    9. Scroll down and click “Submit” again.

    Redeemed codes on wrong accounts

    Today I bought xbox one with Fortnite Bundle with xbox live gold code for my son. I logged in to my profile afterwards and in my son's game profile. But I activated an xbox live gold code on my profile and a Fortnite code on his profile. Is there the option
    to transfer xbox live gold to my son's account because he can not use all the extras from the game now. And it was a mistake, and I do not know whether it's fixable now.

    Thanks for your help - annoying that they don’t make this fully clear to unwitting parents buying kids xboxes.

    Will he also lose in-game purchases? like on fortnite etc…

    Is there no way to convert the existing account into a child's account or otherwise apply parental controls to it?

    I'm am trying to put my parental control 6 digit pin in & it keeps telling me it's incorrect. I then proceeded to changing it then I'm told again that it's still incorrect.

    I’m having the same problem for months now. Ive turned parental control off, changed pin but on fortnite it says it’s incorrect which it’s not. But pin is accepted on epic games. Doesn’t make sense. Please help

    I would use his own log on, that way he would have all his things and you could apply Fortnite parental controls.
