  1. Parental consent even though i am 18 and not even in a family?

I am just trying to play Minecraft on my pc and I cannot access realms because it says I need parental consent.

The issue is that I am not in a family?? when I view my family there is no one else with me. So I cant even get the "parent" to remove me or give consent. i have actually been dealing with this issue for a long time. i have never been in a family. what do i do?:??

    :)

Hi Ruby, my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

Your Xbox account age starts from the Date of Birth you entered when creating your profile online.

Once you hit 18, it becomes an adult account automatically. Just make sure your birthday on the account is correct.

You can check it here: https://support.microsoft.com/accou...-account-837badbc-999e-54d2-2617-d19206b9540a

If your Date of Birth is correct, try adding a payment method and billing information to your Microsoft Account.

Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to update.

    https://account.microsoft.com/

Go to Payment & billing and select Payment options.

You can add or edit payment options here.

If that still does not work, the best course of action is to contact Support and provide the necessary information to validate your date of birth.

    Please enter this link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

    Then, follow these steps:

    Type in your query: "Agent"

    Click on Get Help.

Scroll down the page and click on Contact Support.

Select your "Other Products" and "Billing and Account Profile Questions" > Confirm.

Select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" > Confirm > Start Chat.

    I hope this helps.

    Paental consent

Why you're being asked for parental consent

If the date of birth on your Microsoft account shows that you're under 18 years old, Xbox is required to request parental consent for you to use Xbox Live.

If you're an adult, but you got a message asking for parental consent, it's because you're a child in your Microsoft family. Even if you're over the age of 18, you can still be a child in Microsoft family.

    Solution

If you're under the age of 18, follow the steps on your console to have your parent sign in and add you to a Microsoft family.

If you're over the age of 18, have your parent remove you from the family. They'll have to sign in to
account.microsoft.com/family, select your profile, and select remove.

If you're unable to clear the message, contact Xbox Support
