  1. Parent Question

Thank you in advance for reading and for constructive comments.

My child is the proud owner of an Xbox One. Her favorite game is Minecraft.

We try to log onto the game (we have the disc for the game) and are prompted to pay for a subscription.

Is there a way to play this without getting a subscription? We just want the single player/offline method of playing for now. Is this possible?

    Thank you

    :)

  4. Parent Question

You don't need any sort of subscription to play Minecraft if you have the disc, is it an Xbox Live Gold subscription they're trying to sell you?

You need Gold to play with other people online, but you should be able to play single player without any additional payment.

What exactly does it say when you try to start the game?

    Try the following.

From the main menu, select PLAY GAME

    Select MORE OPTIONS

In there you should see the top option is enabled (ONLINE GAME), un-check/un-tick/un-select this option. If that option is enabled it will be trying to connect to Xbox Live which requires a Gold Account on the console.

    Press B to go back

    Select LOAD

Once the world loads, it should show a prompt for how the 2nd player can join in (May be A button or the Menu (used to be START) on the 2nd controller)

The screen should go split screen and away you go, enjoy your Minecraft gaming.

^^ Speaks truthfully. 90% of people who threaten to hack have no abillty to do so, and just use it as a scare tactic.

Bearing that in mind, some are capble of hacking, and all should just be blocked, reported, and move on.

    Just my opinion.

Here is a link you might want to read. Its good info on parent gaming ( you may have already).

I would file a complaint via 360. I block communcations with the person and move on. Your son will not get banned if he has done nothing wrong. Sorry you had to go through this.

Hope this helped and happy gaming.
