Palyer giving Death threats over XBL

Since I cannot "name and shame" and I usually cannot get through to XBox Support by phone since people blow up their lines. I ran across a cheater in BF4 and I ran through the proper channels of report him, flag him etc. But it seems that he is pretty hard
to defend himself. So hard in fact that he keeps burying himself deeper into trouble by throwing threats. first he said he was going call Microsoft and claim that I was filing a false complaint. To which I replied "I do not care, if they ban me I will makeanother
account because there is so much wrong this one, you'd be doing me a service" the he went to say he could SUE me for "Slandering" his "Professional" Gamertag. The only way he could sue me over something like that is if it was he REAL name or something he trademarked,
which he hasn't. The he proceeded to threaten me by saying he while put a "Hit" on my Gamertag and various clans will stalk and harass me to the point of I do not want to play games anymore. I went through the tropes of legalese to tell him that he wanted
to sue me over his name I could sue him for Cyber Stalking, Bullying and Harassment. Then came the threats of bodily harm and death. He gave me his physical address stating that IF I were to pull up into his driveway he'd kill me. I already know full and well
youre not supposed to give out that sort of information here on the forums OR on XBL. I even got him to join a party, he muted my friends and proceeded to say "If I wanted to physically do something to you, you or your friends wouldn't stop me" After I sent
him a message regarding the CoC under Cheating my In Box glitched out. All texts would not show up after ten letters and voice messages would not load. I could not even join parties. when I restarted my console most of his messages were gone all the way up
to two messages that were two weeks old and the spat between him and I were mere days. I've looked up his stats with a friends and found out that he has been boosting and there is a high suspicion of illicit mods with the amount of headshots. 5000+ Headshots.
400-500 Sniper Rifle medals and his K/D drops but his Score Per Minute climbs. During this entire thing I was vulgar, definitely, but i never issued any kind of threat other than he was cheating and he was garnering a report. He even went to say that MS traced
his XBox and IGN jumped into his party to see if he was hacking. Not to mention the fiction he spins. He claims that he had leukemia when he was 13 and that was when MS traced his Xbox360 when he was again reported for hacking. That would have actually made
him 15 and IGN doesn't investigate hackers or cheaters that I know of. I can only give you his messages that are recent because they all got deleted somehow and there isn't any kind of back up..... Which reminds me, he quoted that "I have all of your messages
saved to a file" that could only mean his computer is hooked up to his console which is a known way to hack and change source codes.

Will I be notified when some sort of action is taken against this user, or do I just have to trust that something will be done? I am not sure how the resolution works, having never had something like this, in how extreme it is, happen.

That's ok, it was only an idea. But I understand, nobody should be treated that way, no matter what gender they are...as well as race, nationality or orientation one might be. It's ashame we have to still play in an environment where this kind of stuff
goes on.

If you encounter anyone like this again, the best thing (as you know) you can do is file a complaint, and mute/block the person. Good luck in the future!

 

If he's sending death threats, contact the police and show them the messages that he's been sending you. They can trace his I.P and find him. Sleeping Dogs style. Or you can give them that address he gave you provided its not fake. I don't understand why
people are like that. Idiots, I swear.

 

Well I just filed a complaint to DICE with about as much detail as this one except I gave the name. I'm doing the most legal thing possible within the constraints of the MS CoC. I would only be able to call the Police ONLY if I were to perceive him as a
threat to my life or the lives of my family/loved ones. Call me a prune, but he is in violation of the CoC on multiple counts. Its hard to be intimidated by a guy who can't even play a game fairly, But I'm calling his bluff and letting the owners of the system,
servers and game think about what to do with him.

 

Do not contact the police, they are busy people dealing with REAL dangers. Why keep playing a game with someone that is threatening to kill you? lol Block him?????

 

If you honestly feel that you are in danger you should contact the Police on the emergency serivces number.



However "Timmy sent me a message saying he's gonna punch me in the nose" is not cause for immediate alarm and is liable to land you in trouble.



Otherwise the best way to deal with someone acting like a jerk on XBox LIVE is to mute them, put them on Ignore and report them.

Yea, but when you have a guy stalking you. Its kind of different. Despite the fact that I can block him he can still join the games in progress if I'm playing a multilayer game and there is a spot in the lobby. Mutes and Blocks can only do so much. There
needs to be a better more effective system to report people who are in violation. Like reporting messages, some sort of program that lets you send it to Microsoft with both the Antagonists and Reporter's name attached.

Just remember, After you Report, Block and Avoid this player, DON"T contact them again...... Just move on. No need to play with unwanted members or keep tabs on what they are doing. GOOD LUCK!!!

Threats over the internet are about as effective as threatening to tear someone's house down by throwing paper clips at it. Laugh it off, file complaint, block, and move on.

Unfortunately, beyond reporting him there's not much you can do. Report them for all the appropriate reasons, for starters, and do not join their parties/whatnot.

-- Block them off a message of theirs.

-- Mute them.

-- Change your Privacy Settings so that anyone not on your Friend's List cannot see when you're on, what you're playing, what you have played and so on. You can actually protect yourself reasonably well.

Do not join their Parties/games/send them a message for a number of reasons, and once you block/mute them and change your Privacy settings, file another complaint on them (using a message you were sent) in a week or two.

 

The person probably couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag... just take the advice given, move on and game on.
