Pallworlds not able to play offline on Xbox series x

Even tho it's advertising that it has an offline mode in the store. Also considering "steam" players have access to it. Every time I try and open the game without an internet connection it pops up a "check your connection" screen. I have game pass and am able to play other pass game offline but not this one. It's really inconvenient since I have a system update and am not able to check to internet nor download the update. Even tho it's a 1g download it would still take hours to complete with my hugnet provider. Just wondering if this will be a future access to players on xbox game pass or am I sol.
