Painful console update speed, normal?

Hi,

Got a 2GB March update for the console, why is it running at approx 1-200 kbps every console update has been like this and its dreadful.

I have tested my connection on my pc and other consoles they all download fine, I have Sky fibre optics.

Is this normal for the one?

Got to say, that was the least painful update yet.

Turned console on this morning (about 5 hours after the update went live), both my consoles found, downloaded, and installed first time.

Usually update time is painful, with multiple failures, slow downloads, etc.

 

Xbox One Connection fix

I'd turn the console to offline and only turn online on for updates until you can connect to the fibre. That speed is too slow to do much, and with the console online it's going to try and load pins, store, friends etc before you can really do anything, and your net speed will make it crawl. I went over my data limit last month and got shaped to around what you're getting now for a few days (hence I'm unlimited plan now), and it was painful until I went offline. Hopefully your net gets sorted soon.

If all else fails throw rocks at it.

 

Isn't SkyFiber satellite internet?

 

That's slow my update with virgin media fibre took about 5/7 mins

 

It took about 8 minutes for mine to completely finish it's update from start to finish... I have Shaw internet, via WIFI.

 

was on bt fibre = fast, now on sky fibre = fast still

 

I am running Verizon Fios at 75Mbps and this Mar update is still at 33% since 8pm.

What they heck is going on?

All my Xbox one installs and updates are running super slow!

 

My Xbox One updates never take longer than 8 minutes. Today's update only took 5 minutes. And I am WI FI at 75 MBPS download

 

We're with Spark NZ ADSL Broadband averaging 10.9/0.9, the update size was 287MB and only took 4 minutes to download. Maybe there was another dos attack, you cant rule it out since the culprits aren't in jail yet.
