    Paid to renew membership but it says it expires in 1 week?


    His so yesterday I got kicked off xbox live cause it said I needed to renew my membership. Well today I renewed it and it charged me $20 but I was checking my account and it says my membership expires on 1/5/2017. Why did I get charged 20 for just one week
    of Xbox live? Plz help.

    How to Turn off auto renewal or cancel Xbox LIVE membership

    How to turn off auto renewal

    It is recommended that you cancel your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership using the option of turning off automatic renewal. If auto renewal is "off", your membership will expire at the end of its current term.

    Steps to follow:

    1) If you are not already signed in, click Sign In at the upper right hand corner and sign in using your Microsoft account.

    2) Proceed to My Account.

    3) Click Change next to automatic renewal. Change the setting to OFF

    You will be able to continue enjoying all the benefits of Xbox LIVE Gold Membership until your paid membership time expires.

    Note:

    If you want to cancel or disable your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership immediately, you should contact Xbox support. Use the Request a Call from Support option on the official Xbox Contact Us page. Your account cannot be canceled through chat or email.

    If you disable your account immediately, you will lose the time remaining on your membership subscription.

    If you are on a 2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract, and you want to cancel before the end of the 2 years, you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and other applicable taxes. Once the two-year agreement period is over, your account will not be renewed automatically.

    You can cancel the 2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract using the option of self-cancel your subscription on Xbox.com

    still waiting for next free game with gold

    I thought the free games were only for the people who were renewing their accounts.If you have a 1 year pre-paid you wouldnt get these games.It seemed like an incentive to get the members back whose memberships had expired.

    Hi! The recommended option to turn off automatic renewal is by
    www.xbox.com

    1. Sign in (If you’re not already signed in)...

    2. Go to My Account, located directly under your gamertag in the upper right corner

    3. Next to Automatic Renewal, click Change.

    4. Change your automatic renewal setting to OFF.

    Important: If you turn off auto-renewal, your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership will expire at the end of your paid membership time. Until then, you can continue to enjoy all the benefits of Xbox LIVE membership.

    Auto Renewal?

    If you had a paid membership going, and you added pre-paid membership cards onto your account, the membership card will auto default as the primary membership. When they expire it will revert back to the paid membership. So yes, you have auto renewal on.
    As for why it shows that it renews earlier than it should is beyond me. I cannot see your account so I do not know if both of the membership cards were added to your account. If you have questions about that then contact MS support and ask them if they see
    both cards on your account.
