    Paid new subscription - account shows payment but console does not work


    Hi,

    I paid for a new subscription and it went through by using my microsoft account online on my computer but when I go to use the console to play a game it says I am not allowed to go online. How do I reset my console so it can see my new subscription/payment?

    Hi There,

    Try a hard reset, by switching off your console from the front, unplugging the power brick, waiting 30 secs, and then plugging it back in.

    You can also try to add and remove your account from the Xbox as well.

    Hello, let us know whats going on now. When you loginto your Microsoft account does it show you have a current subscription? Does it show that you owe a payment for a subscription? Does it show in billing that you paid for this new subscription? I would
    call XBox up and speak with a rep so they can enter your account and possibly see whats going on. Please come back and let us know if it was fixed!

    The service does not allow on-going subscriptions such as GamePass to be paid for with only account balances. To sign up via the console or the Xbox website you'll need a valid payment method for the subscription.

    If you don't have a valid payment method such as Debit/Credit Card or PayPal, you'll need to purchase a pre-paid Xbox GamePass subscription code from a retail store or online. Joining GamePass via this route does not require a separate payment method.

    If it's a new console, then it should work when you go to add Gold to the account from the dashboard, even if you've backed out previously. And even so, you can create up to 3 accounts, each with a one month trial of Gold.

    If you sign into your account at account.microsoft.com on a PC, this should show up there under subscriptions. If it does do a hard reboot on the console and if that does not work uninstall and reinstall your profile on the console. If the subscription
    does not show up on the website for your account, you may have redeemed it on another account.
