But surely it would be better to tie it up now, its going to cost a whole lot more if they wait. And would EA or respawn allow it.

I'd imagine they will wait to see how it does first, see the feedback/response after it's released.

Would EA/Respawn allow it? If enough money is put in front of their faces I'm sure they would ;-)

 

I think ea would look at play station 4 selling over FOUR TIMES the amont of xbone this year and say no to any future tf xbone , 360 & pc exclusive. They want the millions of people to buy the game & dlc not 20% of the market

@EvenDavyBoy - yes the PC version (and the X360 version) ALSO use the Cloud (i.e. MS Azure servers). Which is why people that say the game is on X360 and therefore it is easy to do on PS4 are off the mark.

Sony need to get a (decent) server farm going in order for Titanfall 2 to work well on PS4. Could they do it? Of course - but it'll cost them a fortune. Would they be willing to spend so much to get T2 on PS4? Who know.

I for one don't care - T1 is on X1...and I'll really looking forward to it. Daft thinking about the next version (2 years away?) while the 1st version hasn't even come out.

Sony is selling building to pay there bills, were would they get the money to purchase the servers needed to run Titanfall?

Sony isn't selling buildings to keep the electricity turned on. They're selling buildings to have money to funnel in to new projects. And what exactly are we talking about here?

 

I agree with @Sword - let's not bash Sony just for the sake of doing so. Their entertainment division is profitable (it's the TV manufacturing sector that's seriously losing money).

Some people say Azure is just dedicated servers (and therefore Sony can do that) - although techincally that's true the business model is different. Usually the game dev/publisher pay for or supply dedicated servers. Why would Respawn/EA want to do that
for T2 if they know MS will give them free Azure access. So would Sony make an exception and create a dedicated server farm just for T2? I certainly don't know....only a proper "insider" would know. (The rest of us are just guessing).
